When The Glitter Turns Gold – Chapter 4

Chapter 4 — Illusionary Freedom

Jun 8, 2004 – Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Hotel Victoria – JT and Justin’s Hotel Room

Justin’s POV

What in the hell is going on around this place?  Is the whole world out to get us or what?  Why is this happening to us?  Our lives just started together and now we have another obstacle to overcome.  With all this new shit popping up, is that a damn sign that our lives together is destined to fail?

It’s been a whole damn day since JT was taken away from me at the hospital, by the damn police.  I thought they were only going to talk to him, but now I’m wondering what more is going on, since it doesn’t take a whole damn day to talk to someone.  What in the hell is really going on with that mess?  Hell, the most I was able to hear, when the cops were around is that this mess has something to do with whatever happened to Ken and the reasons for why he’s in the hospital right now.  I know JT didn’t have anything to do with Ken being in the hospital, but it seems the cops think he does.  Right now, Ken isn’t in any condition to tell anyone what happened to him.

Truly, I can give a fuck about why Ken is in the hospital.  My main concern is why my husband isn’t back here, with me and his son.  Why haven’t they let him go?  They were only supposed to be talking to him, so why do I feel like something more is going on?  It seems more like something else has happened that has led to him being locked behind bars, starring in his own made for TV movie about a black man, serving time in jail for a crime he didn’t commit.

Damn it all to hell!  Those creeps aren’t talking to him. Hell, when I went by the Toronto Police Service last night, to try to see if I could talk with him about Caleb, they wouldn’t allow me to.  With the way those creeps acted, I should’ve known something more was going on.  That was my clue to call Howard and tell him what was happening.  After talking with him, he assured me that he was going to do what he could to take care of things and that he would be here as soon as he could be.  I’m just waiting on his call to let me know that he’s arrived.

“Justin, where is my Daddy?”  Caleb asked as he rolled around on the bed as he looked up at me with that sad expression on his face that broke my heart all over again.  “I want my Daddy, Justin.”

“I know you do buddy, but he’s not here right now,” I replied as he looked down as the tears fell from his eyes as he clutched the teddy bear that JT had bought him yesterday, in his arms.

“Why isn’t he here Justin?  Where is he?”  He asked, sniffling.  “You said he would be back soon and he not here!”

“I know I said that buddy and I—I’m sorry,” I replied, sliding closer to him as I rubbed his back as he sniffled again.

“You—you said he would be here,” he said, sniffling again.

“I know I said that buddy, but—but he’s not finished handling the business he went to go take care of,” I said as he looked at me, his tear-stained face, breaking my heart all over again.

“That’s not true Justin, he—he doesn’t love me… Nobody loves me, that’s why he’s not here right now,” he declared as he looked back down at the teddy bear and then threw it on the floor as he turned away from me.  “He doesn’t love me… He doesn’t want me… Nobody wants me!”

“That’s not true buddy,” I said, dreading this topic with him.

“It’s true Justin!”  He snapped, sliding out of the bed quickly as he ran into the bathroom, slamming the door shut.

“Caleb!”  I called out as I rushed over to the bathroom door, turning the knob, but it was locked.  Yeah, he’s JT’s son all right.  It seems his kid likes to hide in bathrooms too.  “Come on buddy, open the door.”

“No! Leave me ‘lone Justin,” he said as I could hear him sniffling more.  “Just leave me ‘lone, nobody wants me an’way, just leave me here by m’self!”

“Caleb, buddy please open the door,” I said as I tried turning the knob again.  “Come on buddy, open the door and come out here.”

“No!”  He screamed out.

“I’m not leaving this door young man,” I sternly said, feeling a bit defeated, but I wasn’t going to give up right now.

Why in the hell is this happening with him?  Why is he acting this way?  It took me a long time to calm him down yesterday when he started this scene and here it is, he’s started the scene all over again.  It seems Caleb has some abandonment issues, but why does it seem like it’s been enhanced, now that he’s here around with JT?

Why is he acting this way?  Has Heather abandoned him at some point in his life?  Has she left him alone for a long period of time, making him think that she wasn’t coming back to him?  What has that woman done to this kid, to make him think that nobody wants him?  Why does this kid feel that nobody wants him and that I’m just going to leave him alone in here?  That’s not going to happen.  As long as I’m married to JT, that little boy will always have one of us around.

The Airport

Howard’s POV

Thank you God, I’m on the ground!  I’m glad the plane landed safely.  With all the turbulence the plane experienced during the flight, I’m lucky to be here right now.  Now that I’m here, I can find out what’s going on with the on-going soap opera that seems to be JT’s life.

When Justin first called and informed me of what had happened at the hospital, I was under the impression that JT was just going down for a little talk as Justin had stated.  I should’ve known better than to believe that line.  My suspicions about the so-called talk were correct when Justin called me back and told me that the police wasn’t allowing JT to be seen and they wouldn’t give him any information about what was going on.  That was my cue to go ahead and jump on the next plane coming here, so I could handle things and get JT and Justin back together, so I could have some peace in my own life.  Once I get to the bottom of things going on with JT, maybe I’ll finally achieve the peace that I’ve been wanting for a long time.

Most of the time, I don’t know what’s going on in my own life now-a-days.  I shouldn’t have let my guard down on things.  I know that when the police get involved in anything dealing with celebrities, it’s never a thing about talking, it’s always a thing about someone getting locked behind bars and their rights being trampled on, mainly because the police wants to knock the so-called celebrity down a peg or two.  With this madness, I don’t believe they should be trying to knock JT down a peg or two, he’s been knocked down enough lately and I thought with this marriage to Justin, his life was turning around.  Hell, with this shit happening, I guess I was wrong about that.  I guess this is another mess, created by others that I have to clean up to keep his life from spiraling out of control.

“This must not be JT’s year to have a drama free life,” I said as I hopped into the waiting taxi as I headed to the Toronto Police Service to deal with things concerning JT.

Once I get this mess with JT solved, I think I’m going to call it quits and try to focus on my own life for once.  He’s been telling me for years that I needed to work on me.  I guess now is the time for me to do just that.  I’m getting too old to be doing this and I haven’t focused on my life to make myself happy.  I’ve spent the last twenty years of my life, making other people happy.  Well that’s about to change…

Kyle Chamber’s POV

What in the hell am I doing here?  I—I can’t just leave him like that.  I have to go make sure that he’s okay.  I—I never should’ve come here.  I should’ve just stayed home and waited for him to come back…  By then, I would’ve been angrier than I was the other night and things probably would’ve played out the same way, just in a different place.

Now that I’ve calmed down and see things clearly, I have to go to him and make him understand how I felt about things that night.  I can’t let things stay the way they are.  I love him and I can’t allow him to do what he’s been doing.  I’ve given him the last five years of my life and if I’d known that he was going to up and do this, I could’ve been with someone else—someone else that really loves me, not deal with this shit from him!

“How dare he cheat on me with some other man,” I said aloud as a woman that sat across from me, looked up at me and then got up from her seat and then moved over to another set of seats.

He told me that he would never cheat on me, that he loved me and wouldn’t dare do something like that.  So, if he loves me so much, why in the hell is he here with his sister’s kid?  Why have I seen him meeting up with his fucking ex, multiple times no less?  There has to be something to that, since the two of them are here at the same time.  They must be getting back together again.  Well they’ll get back together over their dead bodies damn it!

Half Hour Later – Toronto Police Service

“Hi, I’m here to see my client John Poole,” Howard stated as he stood at the entrance desk.

“Sorry, but visiting hours are over.  The time to visit with your client has passed,” the person behind the desk informed Howard.

“No, you’re not hearing me.  I need to see my client,” Howard stated as he opened his briefcase and pulled out a legal pad and pen.  “You people took my client into custody earlier and didn’t give him the right to call his lawyer, which happens to be me.”

“Again sir, I’m sorry, but the time to see your client has passed,” the person behind the desk stated again as Howard shook his head and then turned around.

“When I return here, my client better be in a state to see me or this place will have sanctions imposed against it,” Howard stated as he walked away, writing information down on his legal pad.

Hotel Victoria – The Floor of JT and Justin’s Hotel Room

Darren’s POV

Why in the hell am I actually here?  Oh yeah, I’m here, like a damn fool, to collect a grown ass man.  What in the hell is wrong with those damn fools, sending me here, to collect JT, like he’s some damn object.  He’s a grown damn man, not a damn thing that can be controlled.

Why in the hell did I let those damn vultures convince me into coming here in the first place?  Why did I let them tell me that if I didn’t come here to get him, to bring him back to Jacksonville, the company would go down the damn drain?  The way they talked and acted the other morning, they act as if JT’s the sole bread-and-butter of the damn company.  Hell, to listen to Marc and Jarrod talk, they sometimes act like he’s the sole proprietor of the damn record label.

If JT’s group is the only act the label has that’s worth something to the damn company, why are any of us wasting our time, working there, trying to recruit new acts?  My biggest question is, why am I trying to keep this damn act going?

From what I’ve heard from others in the company and members of JT’s tour staff, JT isn’t looking to continue performing.  Based on how the company reacted to Jarrod and Marc’s recent actions, I don’t blame him.  From all the things I’ve been told, if I was JT, I wouldn’t want to keep performing under contract with the company either.  If they would allow Marc and Jarrod to do what they did to him, they’ll let those fools do it to someone else.  Knowing those two, they probably already have.

“You, what are you doing up here?”  A tall black man asked as he walked towards me.

“I’m Darren Hay…” I replied as the man shook his head and then pointed behind me.  “What?”

“You aren’t allowed on this floor,” the man said as he pushed me backwards.  “Take it back to the elevator and then go someplace else.”

“Excuse me… I’m not about to leave here,” I said as the man looked at me with one eye raised as he shook his head again.

“Look, you don’t have to leave the hotel, but you need to leave this floor,” the man stated as he smiled and then pulled a phone from his pocket.  “You can turn around and leave on your own accord or I can help you leave.  Choose one and choose wisely.”

“Fine, I’ll turn around and leave,” I said as I turned around and walked back to the elevator.

Damn, was that one of JT’s security guys?  If so, he’s really keeping security beefed up, but for what?  What could’ve happened to make him have security on guard like that?  Now, I really need to know what’s going on with ‘Mutual Attraction’.

Howard’s POV

That was a complete waste of my damn time. I knew I should’ve gotten the American Embassy involved in this madness, before I even ventured there.  These people are going to make me resort to doing things I normally shouldn’t have to do.  When I’m done with this country, they probably won’t allow me back into it, for fear I would cause the economic value to go down a notch.

“It serves them right for denying my client the right to counsel,” I said as I walked through the lobby of the hotel as I walked over to the elevator and pressed the call button.  Now, I just need to find the room that Justin has set up for me and call it a night or whatever.”

Now that I’m here at the hotel where JT and Justin are staying, I can brief Justin on what’s happened so far and what I’ve tried to do.  What’s taking this thing so long?  The sooner I get up there and talk to Justin, the sooner I can get to the room and get some much-needed sleep.  Maybe I should just take the damn stairs.  I need to get some rest, so I can be up in the morning to take care of things with JT and hopefully get him out of jail.  I feel the day is going to be a really hectic one, since it’s already after two in the morning and I’m still awake, trying to get things settled.  I’m tired as hell right now, so I know when I wake up again, I’m not going to be worth shit.

“Finally,” I said as I stepped into the elevator and then rode it up to the floor reserved for JT and Justin.

As I stepped out of the elevator, I noticed a tall black man that stood across the hall.  He walked over to where I stood with what looked like a sarcastic smile on his face.  Who is this guy?  Is this one of JT’s security guys or what?  He looks gruesome, but he looks sexy too.  I don’t need any drama right now, so I hope he isn’t here to cause any trouble.

“Good morning Mr. Marshall, Justin is waiting for you in the last room on the left,” the man spoke as he pointed down the hall, smiling at me.

“Ah, thanks for the information,” I replied as the man patted me on the back as I turned and walked down the hall to the room he indicated.

As I stopped at the door, I looked back to see that the man was watching me as he waved.  Okay Howard, get your mind out of the gutter.  I don’t have time for this.  It’s the middle of the night and I need to talk with Justin and then get to bed.  Ready to knock on the door, it opened quickly and there stood Justin, with a saddened look on his face.

“Justin, are you okay?”  I asked as he stepped aside to allow me entry into the room.

“No, not really, but I’ll be okay,” he replied as I looked at him as he just shook his head.

“Are you sure Justin?  You look as if you haven’t gotten any rest at all,” I said as he nodded his head and then yawned.  “You might need to turn in too.”

“I’ve been trying to, but that’s a hard thing to do, having a little kid around that thinks he’s been abandoned,” Justin stated as I looked over his shoulder to see a little boy lying on the bed.  I take it that’s JT’s son.  “Besides that, what news do you have for me?”

“I—I don’t have any news at the moment Justin,” I replied as he frowned.  “When I got to the station, they wouldn’t even allow me to talk to him either.”

“They have him locked away from me and his son.  What—what are we going to do about this Howard?”  Justin asked as he sighed and then looked down, shaking his head.  “He didn’t do anything, he’s innocent.  He hasn’t done anything wrong to be locked up for.”

“I know Justin,” I replied as he shook his head.

“I think I need to call in some special help and get the media involved in this and then we’ll see what the police thinks about that,” Justin stated as I shook my head, placing a hand on his shoulder to stop him.

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea Justin,” I said as he looked at me and then folded his arms across his chest.  “The media is JT crazy already.  I don’t think adding more to that frenzy is needed.”

“Howard, they said they were going to talk to him and there ain’t that much talking in the damn world,” Justin said as he shook his head and then threw his hands up.  “Those fools wouldn’t even let me see him.  They wouldn’t even let me tell him about his son.  That’s a sign that something’s up.”

“I know Justin, but I don’t need you compounding the issue of him being locked up right now,” I said as he looked at me again.  “Just let me do what I do and you stay here and try to stay calm.”

“Try to stay calm?  Are you kidding me Howard?  It’s hard for me to stay here and stay calm… My husband is in jail… My husband is in jail for something he hasn’t done,” Justin stated as the little boy on the bed moved around.

“Right now, there’s nothing we can do about things.  I’ll see you in the morning.  Until then, get back to him and do what you can to keep him calm,” I said as he looked around at the bed and then frowned.

“Okay Howard, I’ll do my best to do as you ask.  Thank you for coming over here to help us out,” he said as he smiled weakly and then shook my hand.

“Just get some rest and I’ll let you know when I know something more,” I said as I patted him on the back as we walked to the door as I saw the hot black guy again.

“Okay Howard, I’ll talk with you later on,” he said as the black guy just stood there, watching us.  If Justin had said something more, I don’t think I heard it.  The only thing I could think of was getting into bed with that black guy, getting in next to me and the two of us making love until the sun comes up.  “Howard…”

“Ah yeah, I’ll call you later on when I know something.  I—I’m going to go ahead and get to bed.”

“K’ Howard, you have a good night… Pinky will show you to your room,” Justin said as he looked at me strangely as I walked out of the room.

The Next Day – Toronto Police Service – The Holding Area

“When are you fuckers letting me out of here?”  JT asked as one of the officers glared at him.  “I haven’t done anything wrong to be locked up for!  I want to call my lawyer!  My rights have been trampled on and violated royally!”

“Quiet down or I’ll give you something to really shout about singer boy,” the officer stated as he looked at JT and then pointed his baton at him.

“Oh yeah, what is it that you’re going to give me?”  JT asked as he looked up at the officer like he was crazy.  “I dare you to touch me; I’ll forever own your life and the lives of your kids if you do.”

“You’re not in America any fucking more superstar, you’re in Canada now,” the officer stated as he looked around at JT with a strange smirk on his face.  “Don’t make me teach you a new trick…”

“I’ve already said what I needed to say here,” JT stated as he smiled at the officer.  “I double dog dare you.”

“That’s it; I’ve had enough of you!”  The officer screamed as the door behind him opened up as Howard stood there with two other men.

“That will be enough out of you.  I’ve heard enough also,” Howard stated as he walked over to the holding cell where JT was.  “JT, are you okay this morning?”

“I’ll be fine when I’m out of here and able to get back to my son and my husband,” JT replied as he looked at Howard.

“You, open this up,” Howard demanded as he looked at one of the men that accompanied him into the area.  “Get him out of there right now.”

“Hell no, you don’t give orders around here man,” the first officer objected.

“At this point in time, I do give the orders around here when those orders pertain to this man,” Howard stated as one of the men nodded his head as the officer looked at the man strangely, groaned out loud, pulled the cell keys from his pocket and then unlocked the cell door.  “Thank you.”

“I thank you too,” JT said as he stepped out of the holding cell and then glared at the other officer.  “I’m not going to say my stay here was a nice one… Are we leaving now Howard?”

“Not yet,” Howard replied as he looked over at the other men.  “The police still need to find out what happened to your friend.  From what they told me, your fingerprints were the only prints found at the scene of the aforementioned crime—a crime I still don’t understand why you were charged with, when you have multiple alibis.”

“You know, that’s the same thing I said to that damn investigator Lawrence Hudson.  Howard, he violated my rights here,” JT stated as he shook his head.  “Everyone here is responsible for violating my rights!”

“Yes JT, I know that, but I need you to calm down and let me do my job here,” Howard stated as JT turned around and looked at him.

“No Howard, I want that creep charged with a crime,” JT stated as he pointed his finger at Howard.  “You’re not getting the big picture here Howard.  That man violated my rights and allowed these people here to do the same thing.  He questioned me for hours on end and wouldn’t let me call you, the multiple times I asked to call you.”

“JT please,” Howard said as he held up his hand.

“Fine then,” JT stated as he crossed his arms across his chest as he leaned against the wall.

“I need all the paperwork for the charges against my client and I need his belongings,” Howard started as he looked at one of the officers.

“We didn’t take his belongings from him,” one of the officers spoke.

“You’re a lie!”  JT snapped as Howard rolled his eyes.  “You took my phone to keep me from calling him!”

“JT,” Howard spoke as JT shook his head again and then closed his mouth.  “Let me handle this.”

“Fine,” JT stated as he turned his back to the men and Howard.

A Few Hours Later – Hotel Victoria – JT and Justin’s Hotel Room

“Daddy!”  Caleb squealed as he ran over to JT, jumping into his arms and hugging him around his neck.  “I missed you Daddy.”

“I missed you too little buddy,” JT stated as he kissed the top of Caleb’s head.

“I missed you too baby,” Justin stated as he walked over to JT and wrapped his arms around JT’s waist as they kissed.  “I’m glad you’re back here, safe and sound baby.”

“I missed you two more,” JT stated as the tears streamed down his face.

“Daddy, you okay?”  Caleb spoke as he looked JT in the face.

“I’m okay Caleb, I’m just glad that I’m back here with my two favorite guys in the whole wide world,” JT stated as he pulled Caleb to him and hugged him close.  “I love you two very much.”

“I love you too Daddy,” Caleb replied as Howard cleared his throat.

“No one has forgotten about you,” Justin said as he moved away from JT and Caleb and walked over to Howard.  “Thank you very much for bringing my man back to me.”

“You’re very welcomed,” Howard stated as Justin shook his head and then pulled him close, hugging him around the neck.

“I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t come here to solve this problem for us,” Justin stated as Howard smiled.

“Well the problem isn’t completely solved yet,” Howard stated as he looked down and then frowned.  “This issue won’t be solved until Ken wakes up to reveal what really happened to him.”

“When I talked to Ken at the hospital, he wasn’t quite in the talking mood, to tell me about what actually happened the night that caused him to end up in the hospital, in his current condition,” JT stated as he looked down.  “I just hope him getting hurt has nothing to do with my family, in any way.”

“Say what?  Do you think Vanessa or James had something to do with Ken getting hurt?”  Justin asked as he turned and looked at JT.

“I wouldn’t put anything past either of them,” JT replied as he shook his head.

“I don’t think Vanessa or James, for that matter would do something to Ken.  If they were going to hurt a guy, I’m sure it would’ve been Marc or Justin…” Howard stated as Justin gasped, interrupting him.

“Hey,” Justin said as he looked over at Howard.

“I’m just saying man,” Howard responded as he held up his hands.  “If they were going to hurt someone, it wouldn’t be Ken, he was ages ago.  Hell, if they wanted to get somebody that caused problems, that they know, it should’ve been Wes or Cameron.”

“Howard, we’re not going to hash out which of my ex-boyfriends deserve to get the ‘Creep of the Year’ award or which one was the worst that my parents would try to off,” JT stated as Justin shook his head.  “Besides, we have young ears in the room.”

“Good point,” Howard spoke as Justin turned around.

“So, what are we going to do now?  Can we actually leave here?”  Justin asked with a concerned look on his face.

“You can go back to Jacksonville, to JT’s home,” Howard stated with a small smile.  “So far, the evidence that the police service has against JT is minimal at best and not good enough to actually hold him on.  So far, I’ve subpoenaed the surveillance footage from the hotel and the surrounding areas and JT’s alibis are all ready to be shown to a court, if need be.”

“Well that’s good to know,” Justin responded with a smile.

“I can actually say I’ve had enough of Canada, to last me for a long while,” Justin stated as he shook his head.

“You telling me,” JT stated as he put Caleb down on the bed.  “Let’s get our things packed, so we…”

“I don’t have anything to pack Daddy,” Caleb stated with a frown.

“You have to pack the things we bought the other day,” JT stated as he smiled weakly at Caleb.  “I’m sure we’ll get you some new things when we get home.”

“When we get home?  So—so you taking me home with you Daddy?”  Caleb asked as Justin and Howard looked over at JT.

“Why wouldn’t I take you home with me?”  JT asked as he knelt down in front of Caleb, caressing his cheeks.  “You’re my little boy and we’re going home.”

“Okay Daddy,” Caleb replied as he hugged JT around the neck as Justin let go of the breath he had been holding in.

When The Glitter Turns Gold – Chapter 3

Chapter 3 — Who Did It?

Jun 7, 2004 – Jacksonville, FL (Arlington Suburb) – The Apartment of Joshua Raymond

Joshua’s POV

Wow, the last couple of days have been mind-blowing.  My brother—my twin brother is the famous JT Poole of the singing group ‘Mutual Attraction’.  That’s a whole lot to take in, all at once.  I can’t believe I’ve found my family after so long.  Why am I just now finding them?  Why couldn’t I have found them sooner?

“Josh, are you okay bro?”  My brother, the guy I’ve known as my brother for the most part of my life asked as I looked up at him as I could see the concern in his eyes.

“I—I’m okay,” I replied as he stepped closer to me.

“Are you sure Josh?”  He asked as I nodded my head.  “You’ve seen and heard some things over the past few…”

“I know, but I think—I think I can handle it all,” I replied as he leaned in and gave me a hug.  “I—I feel conflicted… I just don’t know how to feel right now.”

“Is that because of your brother?”  He asked as I looked down.

“My brother, my real biological brother is a famous singer that just got married to another famous singer, which happens to be a man,” I said as he frowned.

“Are—are you okay with your brother being gay?”  He asked.

“I—I don’t know,” I replied as he sighed.  “No Brad, I know what you’re thinking… My feelings have nothing to do with…”

“Are you sure about that Josh?”  He asked as I looked up at him.

“My feelings aren’t because of what happened to me when I was younger,” I said as he looked at me as I felt the tears sliding down my face.

“Then why are you crying right now Josh?”  He asked as I sniffled and then used the sleeve of my shirt to wipe at my eyes.

“Because—because I don’t know what to feel right now,” I replied as he hugged me again.

“What’re you going to do bro?”  He asked.  “What do you want to do?”

“I want to have a relationship with my brother and—and his new family, but I—I’m scared—scared that something bad will happen if I allow…” I said as Brad interrupted me.

“Do you think your brother would do something to hurt you?”  He asked.

“I—I don’t think he will, but…” I said as Brad interrupted me.

“This is your brother Josh, your real brother,” he said as I looked down.  “This has nothing to do with Uncle Walden.”

“That’s your uncle, not mine!”  I snapped as he frowned and then backed away from me.  “I—I’m sorry Brad.”

“No, I’m sorry,” he said as he turned around.  “I—I think I better go.”

“Don’t leave Brad, I—I need you,” I said as he turned and looked at me.

“No, you need your real family right now,” he said as he walked over to the door, opened it and then walked out.

Damn it, I wasn’t trying to hurt his feelings or make him feel bad.  I thought he knew that talking about Walden was a touchy subject with me.  His uncle caused a lot of grief in my life and I’m not going to bring that madness back into my life.  I’m not about to associate that evil man and the things he did to me with my brother.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Saint Michael’s Hospital – Ken’s ICU Room

“So, this is where you’ve been hiding for the last few days,” JT said as he and Caleb walked into the room to see Ken lying in bed. “Are you okay man?”

“JT, Caleb, what are you two doing here?”  Ken weakly asked.

“No Ken, what happened to you?  What are you doing here in the hospital?  You’ve been missing for a few days now, with no word of where you’ve been until today,” JT stated as he folded his arms across his chest.

“I—I’m okay JT, really I am,” Ken stated as JT shook his head.

“Caleb, I need you to go sit outside, in the waiting area with Justin,” JT told the little boy as Caleb waved at Ken and then left the room as JT requested.  “Okay Ken, what in the hell is going on around here?  You’re laid up in the damn hospital and from what I found out from the RCMPs, you either fell from the balcony of your hotel room or you were pushed.  So Ken, tell me what in the hell is going on around here.”

“I—I don’t want to talk about this JT,” Ken replied as JT shook his head again and then threw his hands up as he turned around.  “It’s not a big deal…”

“Why do I get the feeling that some foul play is going on…” JT spoke as Ken lifted his hand, stopping him.

“Listen JT, I don’t want to talk about this!”  Ken snapped as the tears streamed down his face as the heart monitor beeped loudly and then an alarm sounded in the room as JT looked around as a few nurses rushed into the room.

“What’s going on in here?”  One of the nurses asked as another nurse pushed JT backwards, almost knocking him down as she made her way over to Ken.

“I need help here, he’s crashing!”  One of the nurses screamed as JT covered his mouth.

“Oh God,” JT said as a nurse grabbed him by his arm, pulling him out of the room as a doctor rushed into the room and started working with Ken.  “What’s happening to him?  What are you people doing?”

“Sir, they are trying to save him.  Stay out of the way,” a nurse spoke as another doctor rushed into the room as JT turned around to see a police officer standing there, watching things.

“Are you the man that’s with the gentlemen in there?”  The police officer asked as JT looked at the man strangely.

“I am a friend of his,” JT replied as the man turned and nodded his head and then motioned with his hand as two other police officers approached him.

“Sir, I think you need to come with us,” the police officer stated as JT looked at the man as if he were crazy.

“You think I need to go with you for what,” JT said as the man frowned.

“You need to come with us, down to the station,” the police officer replied.

“And yet you haven’t told me the reasons why,” JT stated as he shook his head and then laughed.

“Fine then,” the police officer stated.  “What’s your name sir?”

“JT,” JT replied.

“JT what sir,” the police officer said as he watched JT.

“Poole,” JT replied as the police officer smiled.

“JT Poole, you are hereby under arrest,” the police officer stated as he grabbed JT forcefully by his arm, spun him around and then pushed him against the wall, placing the handcuffs on his wrists quickly as JT struggled a bit.

“What in the hell is going on here?  What am I under arrest for?”  JT asked as the police officer pushed him backwards against the wall.

“You’re under arrest for the attempted murder of Kenneth Hampton,” the police officer replied as JT’s eyes widened.

“What!  Are you fucking crazy?  I didn’t try to kill Ken!”  JT screamed as Justin rushed into the area.

“Baby, what’s going on here?  Hey, let go of him!”  Justin demanded as the police officer looked at him.  “What in the hell are you guys doing?”

“He’s under arrest right now and I suggest you be quiet before you join him,” the police officer stated.

“He’s under arrest for what?  What did he do?”  Justin asked, looking at the officer.

“That’s none of your concern,” the officer stated.

“It is my concern, he’s my husband,” Justin stated as the officer looked at him and then back at JT.

“He said I’m under arrest for trying to murder Ken,” JT stated as Justin’s eyes widened.

“What!  Why would he do something like that?  Ken’s his friend and the uncle of his son,” Justin stated as the police officer looked at Justin strangely.  “There’s no reason for him wanting to murder Ken.”

“Don’t worry about me Justin, just take care of Caleb,” JT stated as the officer turned around and then directed JT to walk down the hall.  “Take care of Caleb and call my lawyer!”

A Pub Down the Street from the Hotel Victoria

Chris’ POV

Alright, my plan has been put into motion and all I have to do now is sit around and wait.  Once Justin sees that his so-called porch monkey lover is a damn murderer, he’ll abandon his wants of being with that piece of shit and be free for the taking, mainly my taking.  This is my last resort to get him to see the error of his ways.  I thought with all the shit that nigger put him through in the past, he would know better than to get mixed up in a damn marriage to him.  What in the hell happened to him, to make him turn against his own kind?  Where did Lynda and Paul go wrong with him?

Damn, what’s taking the police so long to do their damn jobs?  When I talked with that damn fuck up, what’s his name, yeah, that fool named Lawrence Hudson a few hours ago, I gave him all the information he needed to lock that mutherfucker up.  Being that it’s late in the evening, I have yet to see any news footage about that nigger being arrested for trying to murder his so-called ex-lover.  All it took was for me to provide the police with information that there was a relationship between that nigger and the so-called victim and bam, that kicked things up a notch.

“I bet both of them thought they were free of me, but I’m not done yet,” I said, taking a sip of my drink.  “When I’m done, that nigger will never see the light of day again.”

Finishing off my drink, I paid the bartender and then walked out.  It looks like things are finally working in the right direction.  Pretty soon, things will fall into place and I’ll finally have Justin in my life, where he belongs.  There won’t be no interference from that nigger and nobody else.  Hell, Lynda would give anything for her baby boy to get away from that nigger and I aim to make that happen.

Two Hours Later – Toronto Police Service – The Holding Area

“Hello, when am I going to get to speak to someone about why I’m here?”  JT asked as he walked over to the door as a police officer directed him back to his seat.  “My rights are being violated right now!”

“Your rights aren’t being violated.  We have the right to hold you up to twenty-four hours to finish our investigation,” a police officer stated.

“No you don’t!  I haven’t done anything that warrants me being in jail right now!”  JT snapped as another man walked through the door.

“Well good evening Mr. Poole,” a tall white man spoke as he walked over to the table and then sat down.  “Go on, have a seat Mr. Poole.”

“I don’t want to have a seat… I want to get back to my son and my husband,” JT replied.

“Yes, I’m sure you do,” the man said as he smiled at JT.  “Congratulations.”

“Yeah whatever man,” JT said as he shook his head and then looked at the man.  “Why am I here?  I didn’t do anything to Ken; he’s one of my best friends.”

“First, let me start by introducing myself,” the man said as JT raised an eye at him.  “My name is Lawrence Hudson.”

“Okay Lawrence Hudson, why am I here right now?  I shouldn’t be here.  I didn’t do anything to Ken,” JT stated as the man frowned.

“You’re here right now because the investigators at the scene of the crime, recovered your fingerprints from the balcony railing,” Lawrence Hudson stated.

“Duh,” JT said as he shook his head.  “This is bullshit.  Of course they found my fingerprints, we’re friends.  I just got those very words out of my mouth.  My fingerprints were found in his hotel room because we are close friends and he’s been keeping my son.”

“Mr. Poole, you’re not grasping the reality of things,” Lawrence Hudson stated as he looked at JT again, directing him to sit down.

“What is it that I’m not grasping man?”  JT asked as he took a seat at the table and then looked at the man like he was crazy.

“Your fingerprints were found in the area where Mr. Hampton possibly fell from,” Lawrence Hudson stated as JT’s eyes widened.

“Wait a minute, are you fools trying to say that I pushed him from the balcony of his hotel room?”  JT asked as the man nodded his head.  “What reason would I have for pushing him from the balcony?”

“That’s why you’re here right now,” Lawrence Hudson replied as JT shook his head.

“I have no reason to push Ken over a damn railing of a balcony,” JT stated as he shook his head.  “What’s my damn motive for doing something like that?”

“You just said he had been keeping your son,” Lawrence Hudson stated as he looked at JT strangely.  “Why was he keeping your son?”

“I—I…” JT stuttered and then looked down.

“Well Mr. Poole, aren’t you going to answer the question?”  Lawrence Hudson asked as JT sighed.  “Did I touch a sore spot in the demeanor of the famous JT Poole?  Yes, I know who you are.”

“I didn’t do anything wrong here,” JT stated as he looked at the man.  “You people arrested me for no reason.  I didn’t do anything to Ken; I have no reasons to hurt him.”

“Are you sure of that?”  Lawrence Hudson asked as he smiled at JT.  “Do you blame him for his sister’s actions?”

“What!”  JT snapped as he hopped up from the table.

“Sit down Mr. Poole,” Lawrence Hudson instructed as he pointed at the chair.

“What’s going on here?  What’s the real reason I’m here for?”  JT asked as he looked around.

“As I told you, you’re here because your fingerprints were found at the scene of the crime,” Lawrence Hudson stated as he pointed at the chair again.  “That’s the reason you’re here right now.”

“As I told you, I didn’t do anything!”  JT snapped as he threw his hands up.  “This is…”

“This is us trying to figure out what happened on that balcony,” Lawrence Hudson stated.

“I don’t know what happened on the balcony with Ken, that’s something you would have to ask him,” JT stated.

“Since Mr. Hampton isn’t in the condition to talk, we’re asking you,” Lawrence Hudson stated.  “There were only two sets of identifiable latent fingerprints at the scene, there on that railing, yours and his.”

“We talked out on the balcony,” JT stated as he shook his head.  “I didn’t try to hurt Ken; there’s no reason for me hurting him.”

“There’s still the issue of what his sister did to you,” Lawrence Hudson stated as JT looked at him through squinted eyes.

“What do you know about what his sister did to me?”  JT asked, looking at the man.

“I know because she was recently arrested for her actions against you,” Lawrence Hudson stated as JT’s mouth dropped open.

“What do you mean she was recently arrested?  Arrested by who?”  JT asked.

“I’m not at liberty to say,” Lawrence Hudson stated with a smile.  “So, were you trying to hurt him because of what she did to you… Or did he try to hurt you because of his sister being arrested and you defended yourself from his attack and then he went over the railing?  Is that what happened Mr. Poole?”

“No!  That didn’t happen at all!”  JT snapped, shaking his head.  “I’m innocent, I haven’t done anything wrong.  Since I’ve been here in Canada, I’ve been in the presence of other people.  I haven’t been around Ken much at all.  There are tons of other people that can vouch for where I’ve been and what I’ve done.”

“Other people like who?”  Lawrence Hudson asked.

“The hotel security, my security team, my husband, my parents, my son, my husband’s friends, the minister that married us…” JT rambled on as the man held up his hand, stopping him.

“So, you’re saying that all the people you just named can vouch for your whereabouts since you’ve been here in Toronto?”  Lawrence Hudson asked as JT nodded his head.

“Call all of them, I’m going to prove my innocence in this matter,” JT stated as the man got up from the table.

“Okay then,” Lawrence Hudson stated as he smiled, turned around and then walked out of the room.  “I’ll be back later on.”

“I’m ready to leave this place right now!”  JT screamed as the man continued walking down the corridor, leaving him in the room alone with a police officer at the door, guarding him.

Hotel Victoria – JT and Justin’s Hotel Room

“Hey buddy,” Justin spoke as he walked back into the room with a tray of food.  “Are you doing okay buddy?”

“Where is my Daddy Justin?”  Caleb asked as he looked up at Justin.

“I’m sorry buddy, but he’s not here right now.  He—he’s still taking care of some business,” Justin replied as Caleb looked down with a sad expression on his face.

“So, my Daddy is just like my mommy too.  He doesn’t want to be here with me either,” Caleb stated as Justin looked at him strangely.

“What makes you say that buddy?”  Justin asked as he walked over to where Caleb sat on the bed and then knelt down in front of him.  “What makes you feel that way?”

“Mommy doesn’t want to be around me and Daddy doesn’t either, since he’s not here with me right now,” Caleb stated as he sniffled and then looked down again, averting his eyes from Justin’s.

“That’s not true buddy,” Justin replied as he ran his fingers through Caleb’s hair.  “Your Dad wants to be around you, but right now, he just can’t be.  He’s handling some busy work.”

“He—he’s been busy all day long Justin,” Caleb stated as the tears streamed down his face.

“I know buddy,” Justin replied as he hugged Caleb to his chest and rubbed his back, wondering when his husband would be back with them.

Toronto Police Service – The Holding Area

“Well hello again Mr. Poole,” Lawrence Hudson spoke as he walked into the room.

“And here we are again,” JT stated as he looked up at the man.  “Did you call to verify my whereabouts?”

“Yes, your whereabouts have been verified, but there is still an issue,” Lawrence Hudson stated.

“What issue?”  JT asked as he looked across the table at the man.  “You told me that I was here because I was suspected of hurting Ken, because my fingerprints were supposedly found at the scene of the so-called crime scene.  If my whereabouts have been verified, then I should be free to get the hell out of here!”

“You need to calm down Mr. Poole,” Lawrence Hudson stated.

“No, I need to get the hell up out of here!”  JT snapped as he pointed his finger at the man.  “You fools have held me here against my wishes, all damn day long.  My child is probably freaking out at this point!”

“Mr. Poole, you need to calm down,” Lawrence Hudson stated again.

“I’ll calm the hell down when I’m able to walk the hell up out of here,” JT stated as he shook his head.  “This is just madness and a violation of my rights!”

“The only madness here is your life Mr. Poole,” Lawrence Hudson stated as JT looked at him and then shook his head again.

“You know what, I’m done with this shit,” JT stated as he stood up.  “Either you fools release me to go home right now or…”

“Or I’ll go ahead and charge you with another crime and then arrest you for that,” Lawrence Hudson spoke as he stood up with a stern look on his face.  “Mr. Poole, you are hereby under arrest for the attempted murder of Kenneth Hampton.”

“I’m innocent and you fucking know it!  I didn’t do anything here!”  JT screamed as Lawrence Hudson motioned with his head as two men rushed into the room, grabbing JT and forcing him down on the table as Lawrence Hudson placed the handcuffs on his wrists.

“Go ahead and place him in a cell,” Lawrence Hudson stated as he turned and walked out of the room as the two officers picked JT up off his feet and carried him out of the room as he struggled to get free.

Los Angeles, CA – Falcon Studios – A TV Show Set/Lot

Mo’ette’s POV

I’ve been walking around this place for a whole damn hour and I have yet to find him.  Where in the hell could he be hiding?  When I got here, the security guy told me that he was on this lot, but I haven’t seen him yet.  Did that guy tell me the truth or what?  If I don’t find him soon, I’m going to just call it a damn day.  It’s hot out here and I’m not in the mood for all this damn sweating.

Giving myself a few more minutes, I spotted him and that damn ho, Emily Detton as they walked through a door from another set.  Finally, I get to find out what in the hell is going on with the two of us and why he hasn’t been returning any of my damn calls.  Whatever the hell is going on, the drama ends today.  Standing there, that damn ho pulled him close and then wrapped her arms around him, kissing him… That ho kissed him on his damn mouth.  What in the hell!  She actually kissed him!

“Oh hell naw!”  I snapped, walking towards the two of them as David turned around, noticing me as the expression on his face changed.

Yeah, his ass scared now.  Now her stupid ass don’ turned around and she has noticed me.  She has that damn look on her face, the one that makes her thinks she’s better than everybody.  I may have to tell her the truth today, she’s no better than anybody, she’s just common.

“Mo… Baby… Please don’t, wait… Maybe…” David stuttered as I shook my head.

“No, I have a song for the two of you,” I said, looking at him and then looking at her.  “Mainly for you though.”

“Oh God,” David said, shaking his head as he moved away from Emily quickly as I moved closer to her, grabbing her by the collar of her blouse.

“I’ve been watching you for long enough,” I sang as she looked at me, her eyes widening a bit.  “To know you’re making a play for the one I love.”

“Bitch, get your hands off of me!”  She yelled, struggling to get away from me, but my grip was firm and tight.

“Now I don’t blame you for looking, but you better not touch!”  I sang, pushing her backwards as she fell against the wall.

“Someone get security!”  She yelled, moving along the wall, trying to get away from me.

“Hands Off!”  I snapped, pointing my finger at her.  “He belongs to me!  Hands Off!  He’s my private property!  Hands Off!  I’ll tell you just one last time, this boy is mine!”

“Security!”  Emily screamed as people stood around watching us.

“I’m in no mood for competition.  I’ve got no time for playing games.  I have no intention of sharing him, with anyone else,” I sang, pointing my finger at her as she backed away from me.

“Sorry, but you’re too late,” she said as I shook my head, getting up in her face.

“Hands off!  He belongs to me!”  I snapped, slapping her in the face.  “Hands off!  He’s my private property!  Hands Off!  I’ll tell you one more last time, this boy is mine!”

“I don’t have to put up with this shit!”  She yelled as I grabbed her by the collar of her blouse again, holding her tight.

“Hands off!  He belongs to me!  Hands off, he’s my private property!  Hands off, I’ll tell you just one last time, the boy is mine!”  I exclaimed, moving my head as she shook hers.

“He’s not yours, he’s mine!”  She screamed as I smacked her in the face again, shutting her mouth.

“He’s mine, he’s mine, he’s mineeeeee…  The boy is mine!”  I exclaimed, slinging her skanky ass to the floor as some people behind me started clapping as I turned around to see that David was nowhere to be found.

Where in the hell is he?  I know he didn’t just walk his ass up out of here, while I was trying to prove a damn point!  He better have a good damn excuse when I find him.

To Protect and Serve – Chapter 8

Chapter 8 — A Dark History Lesson

Aug 7, 1995 – Somewhere in Texas – Marek’s Liar

“Hello my sweetie, how are you doing at the moment?”  Marek asked, rubbing his fingers across Tyler’s chest.  “I hope you’re enjoying your stay here with me.  I think that it’s time…”

“Keep your hands off me Marek!  Just stay back!”  Tyler yelled as his eyes glowed, but nothing more happened.

“Come on now, what are you going to do Mr. Sheridan?  You’re powerless to do anything to me now.  As long as JT keeps your powers locked away from your control, there’s nothing you can really do to stop me.  There’s no need for you to continue struggling the way you are,” Marek spoke as he slapped Tyler across the face and then leaned close and kissed his mouth.

“Stop it!  Leave me alone Marek!”  Tyler screamed, continuing to struggle to get free of the bonds on his wrists and ankles.  “JT, buddy help me!  Stop him from hurting me like this!  You hate him as much as I do!  Don’t let him do this to me!”

“You’re not my master.  I cannot do as you ask,” JT spoke as he stood in the corner of the room.

‘JT please help me.  I know you’re not happy being here.  Don’t you miss Joey?  Joey’s your boyfriend and he misses you very much.  Joey needs you, he needs you to snap out of it, so that you can protect him from Marek,’ Tyler mentally called out to JT.

No Tyler, stop with your lies!  I will not listen to them!  Joey doesn’t love me!  If Joey loved me, he would’ve told me so.  Instead, he pushed me away!”  JT yelled as his eyes crackled with energy as he projected a continuous stream of psychic energy at Tyler as Marek smiled and then laughed.

“Ahhhhhh!”  Tyler screamed out in agony as JT continued blasting him with psychic energy as Marek laughed.  “JT, please stop it, you’re hurting me!  Please stop!”

“Stop Demonloque, you’ll kill him if you continue doing that,” Marek said as he placed a pair of handcuffs on Tyler’s wrists as he removed the shackles that held him in place.

“What are you doing?  Where are we going?”  Tyler asked as Marek escorted him out of the small dungeon as he tried to get his breathing under control.  “Where are you taking me?”

“I’m going to do to you, the same thing I did to Mr. Chandler.  I’m going to have my way with your virgin asshole and you’ll love it the same way he did,” Marek replied as he waved his hand over Tyler’s head as Tyler’s clothing disappeared.

“No, get away from me!  I won’t let you violate me like that!”  Tyler screamed, mustering up enough strength to zap Marek with a bolt of radioactive energy from his eyes, since they weren’t near JT to nullify his powers any longer.

“What in the hell is going on?  Where in the hell am I?”  JT’s voice was heard as Marek turned around quickly and then fell to the floor.

“In here JT!  I’m in here!”  Tyler screamed, looking for something around the room to cover himself with.

“There you are.  Why are you naked and where in the hell are we?”  JT asked, waving his hand in Tyler’s direction as his costume appeared.  “I don’t remember anything, except for attacking the guys and then leaving.”

“I’m naked because that freak was going to do stuff to me!”  Tyler screamed as JT stepped backwards.  “I don’t know where the fuck we are, I just know that I’m ready to get the hell away from here, now that you aren’t under Marek’s control any longer!”

“How did I break his control over me?”  JT asked, looking at Tyler strangely.

“I blasted his ass a minute ago.  It seems when he went down, his hold on you was broken,” Tyler replied as he looked down as a few tears fell from his eyes.  “I’m just glad my powers started working when they did, I had to do what I can to keep him from hurting me more than he already had.”

“It seems you took him out,” JT stated as he looked at Marek’s body that lay on the floor with blood pooled around his head and abdomen.

“I’m not going to say that I’m happy about that, but I would rather we got the hell out of here, now!”  Tyler snapped as JT took his hand as the two of them disappeared in a flash of light.

“It seems my psychic illusion worked,” Marek stated with a laugh as he got up from the floor and then dusted off his clothes as if nothing was wrong.  “They aren’t rid of me just yet.  Once I’m done with them, all of the X-Ternals will be mine and they won’t be protecting anyone, but me.  It’ll be my world and I’ll be the king of it!”

Dec 27, 1993 – Jacksonville, FL – X-Ternals’ Compound

“Why are you here Tyler?  Why didn’t you stay with Hank?”  JT asked as he, Tyler and A’Lana Dayle-Miles known as Spider Girl walked down the corridor, heading towards the living quarters.

“He—he didn’t want to be with me.  He seems to have this crush on some other guy.  He said he wasn’t going to be touched by any other man, not until he knew what would happen with the guy he has a crush on,” Tyler stated as the tears streamed down his face.

“I’m sorry Tyler.  I—I thought he was over that crush.  He said he was going to try to move on with his life,” A’Lana said as she rubbed Tyler’s back.

“Well he told me that he couldn’t fall in love with anyone else, not until his crush was resolved,” Tyler stated as he shook his head.  “Which I believe to be a big waste of time and…”

“Tyler… Tyler wait, let me talk to him,” JT said as Tyler shook his head again, moved past JT and then flew down the corridor that led to the exit.  “Tyler wait!”

“No JT, no!”  Tyler screamed, pressing the button on the panel as the doors opened and then he made his exit from the compound.

“What are we going to do with those two JT?  Hank is going to end up hurting someone and himself, all over a stupid crush,” A’Lana said as she inserted the keycard into the door to her living quarters.

“I don’t know, but I’ll think of something.  I just don’t want to go messing with either of their minds, it would make me feel way uncomfortable,” JT stated as he shook his head and then vanished from the area.

“I hope he figures something out soon,” A’Lana spoke with a sigh as she stepped into her room as the door closed.

Aug 7, 1995 – Somewhere in Texas – All Star’s Tour Bus

“Oh hell!”  Joey screamed, moving back quickly as JT and Tyler appeared in front of him in a burst of light, causing him to stumble and fall to the floor as JT waved a hand in his direction, using his telekinesis to lift his body up from the floor and levitating him up to his side.

“Put him down you freak!”  Justin yelled as he pointed his finger at JT.

“Justin please… I—I need to talk to Joey, I’m okay now,” JT stated as Lance and Justin looked at each other and then back at JT.

“How are we supposed to know that?  This can be some kind of trick!”  Justin snapped, stepping back a bit.

“Listen… He’s talking normal.  He sounds okay.  Is he okay Tyler?  Did he try to hurt you too?”  Lance asked as he looked over at Tyler and then back at JT as a strange phenomenon appeared in the room as a little boy appeared before all of them.

“Okay, this is turning freaky again.  Who’s kid is that?  What in the fuck is going on around here now?”  Chris asked as he moved backwards.

“I don’t believe this,” JT said as he floated past Joey, Lance an Chris and moved over to where the little boy stood, lifting the child’s face, inspecting him.  “Something is wrong here.”

“Please save me… save me from the Demon Master, he be after me.  Please save me… he’s after me!  He’s trying to get me… he going to kill me!”  The little boy screamed as Justin covered his head as Lance moved to hug him.

“Who is this little boy?  Who’s this Demon Master?”  Justin asked, looking around.

“What is going on here?”  Hank asked as he looked at JT and then looked at the little boy.  “That little boy is JT from the past.”

“That’s JT from the past,” Justin said as he shook his head.  “How is the little boy from the past?”

“I don’t know.  What in the hell is going on around here?  How did he get here?  Is someone messing with time again?”  Hank asked as he looked around at Wanda.

“Don’t look at me; I have nothing to do with this.  This is not my doing,” Wanda replied, looking over at Hank.

“I don’t understand what’s going on here.  Where did you come from little one?”  JT asked as the little boy tried to hide behind a seat.

“The last thing I ‘member, I was with Uncle… we were sangin’ and then this big black man was trying to get me.  He said he was going to have me and then I see you… the light flashed ‘round me,” the little boy replied as JT looked at him strangely.

“I don’t believe this.  Is your name Timothy?”  JT asked, moving closer to the little boy as his image fizzled a bit and he was wearing his regular street clothes.

“Yeah, how did you know my name was that?”  The little boy asked.

“Something’s not right here,” JT stated as he shook his head.  “Okay everyone, get to the back of the bus now!  I believe this to be another of Marek’s tricks!”

“Is this really a trick?”  Hank asked, looking at JT.  “I thought Marek was a psychic.”

“He is a psychic, but I don’t know how or why he’s messing with time.  He can’t be trying to get me in the past, is he?  Is he trying to make me fall under his control as a child?”  JT asked, looking down as he scratched at his head.

“That could be a possibility JT,” Tyler stated as he looked down.  “JT, I don’t think Marek was dead when we left his hideout.  You teleported us out of there so quickly, I was just so happy to get away from there before he could do more to me.”

“I didn’t think he was still alive, being that he was lying in a pool of his own blood and…” JT stated, being interrupted by Wanda.

“But did you telepathically make sure he was dead?  Did you sense any brainwaves from him?”  Wanda asked, looking at JT strangely.

“No and right now, I’m sensing that little boy to be the real me from the past,” JT stated as he looked down.  “He needs to get back to where he belongs and quickly.  He’s seen too much here.  Wanda, do you have a magical spell that can put him back to where he came from?”

“If I send him back, wouldn’t Marek or whoever that be, be able to get to him and cause bigger problems?”  Wanda asked.

“If he’s with the Uncle that I think he’s with, I’m sure he would know what to do to protect him and stop Marek or whomever that is, that’s trying to cause the problem,” JT stated as Wanda’s eyes glowed as she took JT’s hand.

“Are you sure about this JT?”  Wanda asked.

“He looks to be around three years old.  If his Uncle is around, then things are going to get rough.  When he returns to where he was, Uncle will take care of things.  As soon as he starts talking about the things he’s seen here, then Uncle will more than likely erase his memory and then he’ll try to find out who this new person claiming to be Demon Master is,” JT stated as his eyes crackled with energy as Wanda used her powers to channel her energy through JT as the little boy screamed and then disappeared.

“If I remember correctly, your uncle was a sorcerer, correct?”  Wanda said as Hank looked at her with a confused look on his face.

“Yes he was Wanda.  As soon as he appears back there, I’m sure Uncle will solve the problem on that end,” JT stated as Joey approached him slowly and then wrapped his arms around JT’s waist.

“What do you mean he would solve the problem on that end?”  Joey asked as he leaned in and kissed JT’s cheek.

“What are you doing Joey?  If I remember correctly, you broke up with me.  You said you were scared of me and…” JT trailed off as Joey interrupted him with another kiss to his lips as he pushed Joey back a bit and then moved away from him.

“I—I’m sorry JT… I—I was scared and I didn’t know if you— the you that was in the state of mind that you were in, was going to hurt me—us,” Joey tried to explain as he looked down.

“I think we’ll have to talk about that matter later on.  To answer your question, my uncle, before he died, was a very powerful sorcerer.  When my younger self returns back to the past and starts talking about anything of what he saw here, my uncle will take the appropriate action to erase his memory of things and then he’ll more than likely do what he can to find out who this person claiming to be Demon Master is and stop him,” JT stated as Joey looked at him strangely.

“Your uncle will find the person that is claiming to be this Demon Master?  That sounds strange.  Why would someone claim to be someone else?  This isn’t making any sense,” Joey stated.

“Let me put it this way then.  My Uncle was once called Demon Master.  There isn’t any reason for my Uncle to be chasing me around, trying to hurt me as a child,” JT stated as Joey, Hank and Wanda looked at him strangely.

“What!  Your uncle was the Demon Master?  But—but I thought the Demon Master was a centuries old sorcerer that couldn’t…” Wanda trailed off, looking down at the floor.

“That isn’t true,” JT stated, shaking his head as he looked down, feeling the eyes of his friends on him.

“Then what is the truth then,” Hank stated as he moved closer to where JT stood.

“When my uncle first started practicing the dark arts, he was approached by an elder named Legion.  The elder warned him that if he continued using that form of magic, he would be bound to it forever.  The elder told him that if he stayed on the path that he was on, his soul would forever be entwined throughout time and space with a demonic creature that he had used divination to communicate with in a future time,” JT explained as Wanda looked over at him.  “So my uncle didn’t change his ways and he was approached by another elder, urging him to change his ways because of his destiny.  Uncle didn’t listen to him and as a punishment, he was cast into Limbo, given the name Demon Master, to be the gate keeper of the realm.”

“Wait a minute,” Tyler and Hank said in unison.

“I thought you were the gate keeper of Limbo… Didn’t you tell me that,” Hank said as he looked at JT strangely.

“Yeah, what he said,” Tyler said as he looked at Hank and then looked at JT.  “I thought that’s how you developed all of your magical powers, by being the ruler of Limbo.”

“I’m not the ruler of Limbo, just the gate keeper there for the time being.  My uncle was the gate keeper there before me.  Once his physical body died, his spirit lived on, just enough to teach me the dark arts,” JT stated as Hank shook his head.  “What is it Hank?”

“I’m lost here,” Hank stated as he sighed.  “When did this all happen?  We’ve been together and I don’t remember…”

“A few years back, after the fall of Gideon, I was approached by an elder and he basically made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.  So, I had no choice but to take the offer and now I’m the gate keeper of Limbo, granted all the powers and status of that title, even though it’s been made out to be an evil one, even though it’s not,” JT stated as Joey backed away from him.

‘Actually, you are not the gate keeper of Limbo any longer!  From this point on, you’ll be recognized as the slave of Master Marek!’  Marek’s voice was telepathically heard by everyone inside the tour bus as it shook violently.

“God no, that voice!”  Joey screamed, looking around.

“Not this again.  I’m really getting tired of this.  Wanda, help me out here.  Let’s teleport the whole bus on to the new location.  We need to get them away from here and to the hotel quickly,” JT stated as he and Wanda joined hands.  “Once they get to the hotel, we’re going to put an end to Marek and take care of this madness.”

“Are you guys able to teleport this whole bus?”  Barbara asked, looking at JT and Wanda as the tour bus was flooded with a gold colored light that enveloped everything around JT and Wanda.  “It looks like they’re doing it.”

“I don’t think so!”  Tyler screamed as the surroundings outside of the tour bus changed.

“Something’s wrong!”  Hank screamed as everything went black and then their surroundings outside of the tour bus were different as JT and Wanda collapsed to the floor.

Aug 7, 1978 –  A Small Town in Georgia – The Home of the Demon Master

“Uncle!  Uncle help me!  Help me!”  A little boy said, crying frantically as he appeared in a burst of light as he ran over to a taller black man.

“What’s wrong Timmy?  Why are you crying boy?”  The man asked as he looked at the little boy closely.

“The Demon Master tried to get me!  The Demon Master tried to get me!”  The little boy yelled as he cried on the man’s shoulder and hugged him tightly around the neck.

“What?  What are you talking about child?”  The man asked.

“I was playin’ in the back when—when this hand touched my back and it—it pulled me into a hole while I sang.  I was runnin’ uncle… I ran so much that I got tired.  When I stopped, the man grabbed me and said he was gonna kill me because I would grow up to be his rival.  Then I was gone.  When I opened my eyes, I seen this man and girl.  She sounded like a cat.  She talked to the man and said something about you being the Demon Master.  The man looked at me and started crying.  He said that he and her would use their magic to send me home and that when I got back to where I belonged, that you would know what to do to solve the problem.  He started glowin’ and he said something about the powers of Limbo and Eldah (Elder) something and then I was running again and then you picked me up,” the little boy explained as his uncle contemplated the story he was just told and then he shook his head.

“I—I don’t believe this!  It’s too soon.  The paradox has started.  You’re in trouble child and I must do what I can to prepare you before my time runs out,” the man said as he put the little boy down on his own feet and then walked over to the corner of the room as he started chanting in a strange language.

“Uncle, what’s going on?  What are you saying?”  The little boy asked as his body floated off the floor.

“Elders of the universe, heed my call… please Elders, grant me the power I ask of you!  The child before you is one of your chosen ones.  He is one of light and darkness.  This child is the one that will bring forth the apocalypse, the chaos-bringer, the child that will be blessed with the universal awareness of life and death.  This child will be for your use my elders!  Please awaken in this child the light that he possesses, so that he may cancel out the darkness that can kill!”  The man chanted until the little boy’s body started to glow as thunder clapped around the house as lightning flashed through the clouds, a bolt striking the boy.

“Uncle, what’s happening to me?  What’s going on?”  The little boy asked.

“Demon Master, we have granted your request.  Upon this child entering pre-adulthood, his power that is natural to his body will manifest and when it does, he will be one of our watchers as you have been,” the man heard a strange voice from the heavens.

“What?  No, he’s not slated for that task Elders!”  The man screamed as thunder crashed through the sky.

“Once this process has taken place, your role as gate keeper of Limbo will be no more.  You would be free to rest.  You would return to your rightful place among the cosmos and he will take your place as Demonloque, which at that point, his light and darkness will be the focal point of his life,” the voice from the heavens spoke again.

“No Elders, that can’t be,” the man stated as he shook his head.

“To save his life, it will be,” the voice from the heavens spoke again.  “His life is spared and he will forever be chosen.  His natural powers will forever protect him, but his protection lies with how he approaches the prism of his soul.”

“Thank you Elders, thank you for sparing and protecting his life and protecting the future from dangers of his darkness,” the man said as the glow faded from the little boy’s body as he fell to the floor.

Aug 7, 1995 – Somewhere in Waco, TX

“Hey!  Are those two okay?”  Chris asked, looking over at JT and Wanda as their bodies lay on the floor.

“I don’t know, but I’m quite sure they’ll be out for a while,” Tyler stated as he looked around.  “With all the power they just used to teleport all of us and a tour bus to another location, I’m sure they’re tired.”

“What the hell… Who is that?”  Chris asked, looking at the woman that just appeared in the room.

“A’Mora, what are you doing here?”  Tyler asked, backing away from the woman.

“Are you okay?  I sensed that something was wrong, especially when I wasn’t able to sense JT’s psychic signature,” the woman identified as A’Mora replied as the tour bus door opened as someone stepped up onto the bus.

“Michura, I’m so glad to see the both of you.  I’ve missed you both over the last couple of weeks,” Tyler said as he hugged both women.

“Who are these women?”  Chris asked, watching the scene unfold before him.

“This is A’Mora and that’s Michura.  They work with us, so they basically know what’s up,” Hank said as he sat down besides Lance as he ran his finger through his hair.

“Well, it seems your wish finally came true Hank,” A’Mora said, noticing that Hank and Lance were sitting close and touching as Tyler looked away.

“So, do any of you know what’s up with Marek?  I can’t seem to sense him or detect where he is at all.  I don’t have a clue to where he can be,” A’Mora stated, walking over to where JT was as she knelt down and touched his face.  “I don’t want him appearing and attacking us right now with two of our strongest members down.”

“Is—is he going to be okay?  I want him to be alright… He’s my boyfriend and I—I’m scared for him,” Joey stated, sitting down on the floor besides JT as he caressed his face as A’Mora watched the interaction between Joey and JT.

‘I’m okay Joey… my body hurts really badly right now.  I need to get up from here and lay down on something soft,’ JT telepathically spoke to Joey as his body crackled with energy as he floated up from the floor and then moved in the direction of the bunk area.

“He said he’s okay, he just needs to rest on something soft,” Joey said as he got up off the floor, following behind JT’s floating body.

“Timmy!  Timmy, where are you boy?”  Everyone heard as they turned around to see a tall black man, standing near the front of the bus, wearing what looked like royal attire.

“I’m here Uncle,” JT replied as he appeared in front of the man and then bowed his head.  “I stand before you Uncle.  Why are you here?  Is there something wrong?”

“Get up my child; you don’t have to kneel in front of me,” the black man said as he shook his head.  “Get up child.”

“Yes sir,” JT replied as he stood up.

“It seems you’ve turned out to be the warrior and protector I trained you to be.  I’m so proud of you my child.  I’ve been watching you for many years now.  I’m happy to say that you did well against Marek,” the man stated as JT looked at him strangely.

“I did well against him?  He’s still out there somewhere, waiting to try again,” JT stated as he shook his head and then looked down.

“No my boy, he’s trapped in Limbo and he’ll remain there until he’s released by you or the Elders,” the man stated with a smile as JT looked at him strangely.  “You and your friend teleporting here the way you did, knocked his astral form out of his body, trapping him in Limbo when he wasn’t able to possess a body.  He stayed out of his body for too long.”

“Well I guess that’s a good thing to hear,” JT stated as he looked down again.  “Uncle… Uncle, how did you get here?  You’re dead.  I saw you die when I was younger and…”

“My child, I’m magical like you are.  I’m here through the same magic that we both possess.  When you were younger, you saw my physical body die, but my mind and soul are very much alive.  I’ve been watching over you and other chosen ones for the last couple of years.  Continue doing what you’re doing and remember that I’ll always be with you, right there,” the man said as he touched JT’s chest.  “Remember child… for now and forever, you are the light and the darkness.  You are Demonloque, the protector and gate keeper of Limbo.”

“Uncle…” JT said as the man smiled and then faded away from view as JT turned and looked down.  “I feel a lot better now.  Joey, we need to talk.”

“Okay,” Joey replied as JT grabbed his hand as the two of them faded away.

“Where did they go to?”  Hank asked, looking over at Barbara and Wanda.

When The Glitter Turns Gold – Chapter 2

Chapter 2 — Love Expression

Jun 5, 2004 – A US Airways Flight Headed to Los Angeles, CA

Mo’ette’s POV

I guess this is the only way I’m going to get some damn answers out of David.  I’ve called his damn phone and left tons of messages and still, I haven’t heard anything back from him.  What in the hell is going on with him?  Why isn’t he answering my phone calls?  It’s like—like he’s fallen off the face of God’s green earth or something.  What could possibly be going on in his life to stop him from answering me, like he damn should be?

“Excuse me miss,” I heard someone say as I looked up to see the flight attendant.

“Yes,” I said as the woman smiled brightly at me.

“You’re Mo’ette LaCasta, aren’t you,” the flight attendant spoke as I nodded my head.  “Oh man, I knew it was you—it had to be you.  I love—love your music.  When you were part of ‘Soul Connection’ in the nineties, I—I collected all of your tapes.”

“Well thank you very much for supporting us,” I said as the woman’s smile grew.  “Do you have something you would like for me to sign?”

“Oh yes, sure,” the woman said, searching her pockets and then pulled out a hanky.  “Here… this.”

“Who should I write this to?”  I asked.

“To a most loved fan,” she replied as I raised an eye at her.

“And your name,” I said, writing what she already said and then signed my name.

“My name is Vi… Viola,” she spoke as I wrote her name and then put my trademark signature symbol under my name as I handed the hanky back to her.  “Oh thank you so very much.”

“You are very welcomed Viola,” I said as she smiled brightly and then patted my shoulder as she walked off as I looked around to see that other people were now watching me.  Oh great, just what I need, a plan full of star-struck fans.

Jun 6, 2004 – Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Hotel Victoria – JT and Justin’s Hotel Room

Justin’s POV

Damn, it’s way too early for me to be up, especially when I’m not working.  Then again, I have no choice but to get up, the call of nature is way too strong.  Sighing, I got up from the bed and then smiled at my baby and his son.  That little boy is growing on him.  A few days ago, he didn’t want anything to do with that boy and now, they’re acting like a father and son should act.

It’s been a few days and Ken still hasn’t shown his face around this place.  Where is he and what’s going on with him?  I haven’t seen him since the night before our wedding.  I’m starting to get worried myself about his whereabouts.  It seems no one has seen or heard from him at all and even Caleb is asking questions about him.  Today is our last day here and like JT, I would like to know what’s going to happen with Caleb.  Is he going back with Ken or is he going with us?  Sighing, I shook my head and walked on into the bathroom to take care of my business.  There’s no point in causing my bladder to explode, because I’m worried about another man.

“Justin,” I heard my baby say as I finished up, shook it, flushed the toilet and then moved over to the sink to wash my hands.

“Yeah baby,” I responded as I grabbed one of the washcloths to wash my face.

“What time is it?”  He asked.

“It’s a little after seven,” I replied, checking my watch as I heard the bed creak and then I saw him as he peaked his head into the bathroom.

“Morning baby,” he greeted as he yawned and then stretched his arms over his head.

“Morning,” I replied, putting the washcloth on the hook and then leaning over to kiss him as he moved back quickly.

“No, I don’t want my morning breath to offend you,” he said as I shook my head.

“No offense would be taken baby,” I said, pulling him to me as we kissed.

I don’t know how long we had been standing there kissing, but the sound of giggling broke us apart.  Stepping back from my baby, I looked around him to see that Caleb sat up in the middle of the bed, watching the two of us.  Smiling, my baby sighed as he turned around.

“Morning Caleb,” he spoke.

“Morning Daddy… Morning Justin,” Caleb spoke as he waved.

“Morning buddy,” I replied with another smile.

“Once we’re all refreshed, we’ll go get breakfast and then start our day,” my baby said as he moved around me, going into the bathroom as he started the water in the sink.

Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Police Department, 6th District – The Chief’s Office

“Charles, I’ve had it up to here with you taking matters into your own hands!”  The chief yelled as he took a seat behind his desk.  “What’s going on between you and this Stewart woman?  Why in the hell is she in lock-up?”

“She’s there because she committed crimes… Crimes against another person,” Detective Charles stated as the Chief directed him to sit down.  “She’s a criminal and criminals belong in lock-up.”

“And what about the Tate woman?  She’s been screaming about her rights being violated and that you have a personal grudge against…” The Chief stated as Detective Charles interrupted him.

“Sir, I can’t have a personal grudge against neither of them, I don’t personally know them,” Detective Charles stated with a smile.

“How did all of this start?”  The Chief asked.  “Why are those two women now a part of the judicial system?”

“Things started when Heather Stewart confessed to sexually assaulting a man,” Detective Charles stated with a frown.

“From what I’ve been told, she claims she’s committed no crimes,” the Chief stated with an angry look on his face.

“Sir, correct me if I’m wrong, but if a person uses a stimulant to alter someone’s mental demeanor or stability and said person falls unconscious, unable to consent to sex, is that not sexual assault?”  Detective Charles asked as the Chief looked at him strangely.  “Well sir?”

“Why yes, that’s a definition of sexual assault,” the Chief responded as he scratched at the side of his head and then sighed.  “What does that have to do with the Stewart woman being in lock-up?”

“She told me that she had sex with an unconscious man,” Detective Charles replied, his anger clearly showing as the Chief raised an eye at him.

“She actually told you this?”  The Chief asked as Detective Charles nodded his head.

“She confessed all of this to me and others also heard this confession when she talked with her victim, the reason I was called into things,” Detective Charles stated as he sighed and then shook his head.

“What?”  The Chief said as he leaned back in his chair.

“She said that had the man been awake, he would’ve consented to having sex with her.  Mind you sir, the man in question is gay and said man wouldn’t have consented to having sex with her,” Detective Charles stated.

“I see,” the Chief stated as he looked at Detective Charles closely.  “So, how did you get involved in this matter?”

“My sister is a nurse that works at the hospital where Heather Stewart was a patient,” Detective Charles stated.  “I got involved in this matter when Heather Stewart confessed to what she had done when the victim confronted her about it, mainly because he wanted to know how he was the father of her child.”

“Say what?  There’s a child mixed up in this matter?”  The Chief asked.

“Yes sir, that’s how the victim found out he had been sexually assaulted,” Detective Charles stated as he looked up at the Chief.  “When the victim asked her how he became the father, she explained to him that she had sex with him while he was passed out.”

“And how did you find out this information?  Did the victim call the police and file a report?”  The Chief asked.

“No sir,” Detective Charles answered as the Chief shook his head.  “My sister called me and told me what she and other nurses had overheard from the room.”

“So your sister called you and told you about this and you went to investigate, correct?”  The Chief asked as Detective Charles nodded his head.  “So, the so-called victim didn’t come make a report of the crime?”

“No sir,” Detective Charles replied as the Chief shook his head.  “I went to talk with Heather Stewart about what was told to me and she confessed that she had done it and…”

“And you arrested her,” the Chief stated as Detective Charles shook his head.

“No sir, I didn’t arrest her right then,” Detective Charles stated.  “I went around to gather information from others and then once I had that information, then I arrested her.”

“What information did you gather?”  The Chief asked, sliding back closer to his desk.

“I went to Penn Med and I got the paternity test of the child, I spoke with the technician there that overheard a conversation about how the child was obtained,” Detective Charles stated with a frown.  “Heather Stewart acts as if she did nothing wrong, while the victim is highly upset.  She raped him and it seems I was the only person that cared about that fact.”

“I’m sure other people would care, if a formal report had been filed,” the Chief stated.  “Who is this victim anyway?”

“JT Poole,” Detective Charles stated as the Chief looked at him strangely.  “The singer, JT Poole.”

“I see,” the Chief stated as he shook his head.  “I take it the victim didn’t report this, because he didn’t want to draw negative attention to himself, right?”

“I don’t know why he didn’t report it sir,” Detective Charles stated as he shook his head.

“Why are you so interested in this case Charles?”  The Chief asked.  “Why do I get the feeling that there’s something else going on here?”

“The only thing going on here is that I’m trying to right a wrong that has been allowed to happen for almost ten years,” Detective Charles stated and then stood up from his seat.  “That woman is guilty and she needs to be behind bars for what she did.”

“She might be guilty of a crime, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to stay in jail for it,” the Chief stated as he shook his head.  “The crime she committed happened almost ten years ago and the statute of limitations have run out on that.”

“Are you serious?  She raped that man while he was unconscious and to add more fuel to the fire, she got pregnant with his child,” Detective Charles stated as he shook his head and then walked towards the door.  “That man didn’t even know he had been raped until the child was thrust upon him.  So how can he report a crime he didn’t know had happened to him?  How Chief?  Can you tell me that?”

“I don’t have an answer for your questions, but it’s out of your hands now, let the district attorney handle things, you hear me Charles?”  The Chief asked.

“Fine,” Detective Charles stated as he turned around to look at the Chief.  “Can I leave now?”

“Yeah, you’re dismissed, go on home for the day,” the Chief stated as Detective Charles looked at him and then walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

Afternoon – Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Toronto Eaton Centre

“I don’t think I can fit anything else in there,” JT stated as he wiped his mouth with his napkin and then looked over at Caleb.  “You got enough to eat Caleb?”

“Yes,” Caleb replied as he smiled and then wiped at his mouth.

“Let me go ahead and take this trash away,” Justin stated as he picked up the trays and carried them to the trash.

“So what do you want to do Caleb?”  JT asked, looking down at the little boy.  “Do you want to look around in some of the stores or do you want…”

“How about some video games,” Justin said, returning to the table.  “There’s an arcade somewhere in here and I’m going to find it.”

“Oh, here we go,” JT stated as he laughed.  “If you two want to go play video games, that’s fine with me.  I’ll go looking around through some stores to get some souvenirs of our visit here.”

“Fine, you go do that, we’ll have some fun,” Justin said as he held out his hand to Caleb and Caleb took it.  “We’ll see you in a bit.”

“Okay,” JT replied as Caleb kissed his cheek and then walked off with Justin and an undercover security guy.  “It seems they are spoiling each other.  What’s going to happen when it’s time for all of us to return back to our lives?”

“Things will go back to normal sir,” JT heard as he looked up to see one of the security guys standing at the table.  “Mr. Tanner said that you were going shopping.  Are you ready?”

“I—I guess I am,” JT replied as he got up from the table as he and the security guy walked out of the area.

Jun 7, 2004 – Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia Police Department, 6th District – Arraignment Court

Heather’s POV

What in the hell is going on around here?  Is this really happening to me?  I can’t believe this shit is happening to me right now!  I’m in a damn court room and I don’t understand why.  There’s no reason for me being here, I haven’t done anything wrong!

“Excuse me, I shouldn’t be in this damn place,” I said as the bailiff looked over at me and then motioned for me to be quiet.

Who in the hell does he think I am?  I’m not some damn child he could just motion to and I roll over and be quiet.  I’m not about to be quiet around in this damn dump!  Hell, I’m in no mood for dealing with this kind of shit.

For the last few days, I’ve had to deal with being in a damn jail cell with bitches… Bitches that have tried in more ways than one to get the goodies.  If someone needs to be facing charges these fuckers claim I’m facing, it should be those damn bitches that have been in the cell with me, constantly touching and trying to get me to touch them.  Hell, since coming to this damn town, I have seen my share of sexual assault than I need to.

I can’t fucking believe I’m in a damn court, being arraigned for a sex crime.  There’s no reason for me being here today.  That damn detective had no right or reason to lock me up and hold me in jail the way he has.  If you ask me, I think that damn man needs his fucking head examined or something.  How dare he lock me up and then try to hide me in jail the way he has.  He’s not going to get away with what he’s done to me.  I’m not going to just stand by and allow him to put me through all of this, without him having some damn consequences for his actions.  There is no way in hell a jury will convict me of felonious rape, assault, bribery and resisting arrest.  By the time I’m done, that damn detective will be doing the time he had planned out for me.

“The court calls the case of the state of Pennsylvania versus Heather Stewart,” the bailiff stated as he motioned for me to stand up and go up to the podium.

“What are the charges Bailiff?”  The judge asked as the man picked up a clipboard and then flipped a page as he started reading off the charges.  “My lord counselor, what wasn’t this woman charged with?”

“If you ask me, I shouldn’t be here at all!”  I snapped as a few people around in the room looked at me strangely.

“Be quiet,” someone behind me spoke up.

“Why am I here damn it?”  I asked as the judge looked over the rim of his glasses at me.

“Counselor, is there a need for a seven-thirty hearing?”  The judge asked, looking over the rim of his glasses again, directing his gaze at the district attorney, who in turn looked at the public defender assigned to me.

“I shouldn’t be in this damn place… I was the one that was attacked!  I didn’t rape anyone and I damn sure as hell didn’t do anything to anyone to get me locked up for!”  I screamed as the public defender shook his head.

“Your honor, please forgive Ms. Stewart’s outburst, she will beh…” the public defender spoke as I nudged him as he looked at me.

“Your honor, Ms. Stewart was taken into custody by Detective Warren Charles.  The defendant confessed to the crimes in the vicinity of doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.  Your honor, there are signed affidavits attached as evidence of Ms. Stewart’s crimes,” the district attorney stated as I looked over at him.

“But I didn’t do anything!”  I snapped as the judge looked over at me again.

“Mr. Steinbeck, please control your client in this court room,” the judge instructed the public defender.

“Ms. Stewart, you need to remain quiet until it’s your turn to speak,” the public defender stated as I shook my head and then sat back down. “No Ms. Stewart, you need to remain standing.”

“Hell no I won’t!”  I snapped as the bailiff walked over and stood next to me, gesturing for me to go back to the podium.

“Ms. Stewart, you are hereby in contempt of this court!”  The judge yelled as he banged the gable.

“No, you’re in fucking contempt!”  I screamed as the bailiff grabbed me by the arm, pulled me up from the seat and started dragging me towards the door.  “Get the hell off of me!”

“Get her out of here right now!”  The judge demanded, pointing the gable at me.

Jacksonville, FL (Baymeadows Suburb) – The Home of JT Poole

“Why in the hell isn’t this code working?”  Todd Babcock asked as he pressed numbers into the security panel at the main door to JT’s home as the device beeped at him.  “What in the hell is going on?  Am I locked out of JT’s place now?”

“Maybe you are,” Todd heard as he turned to see Wes Ransom standing there with a bag thrown across his shoulder.

“Wes?  What are you doing here?”  Todd asked, watching the man.  “Shouldn’t you be in Santa Barbara, doing some magazine cover or some modeling thing?”

“Ha ha ha, real funny Roddy-Toddy,” Wes sarcastically said as Todd glared at him.  “I’m here to see JT.”

“Apparently JT isn’t here right now, since I’m not able to get in and he’s not inside to override the console here,” Todd stated.

“Move out of the way and let me try,” Wes stated as he entered some numbers into the security panel as it beeped at him also.

“Guess you have the same luck I have,” Todd cockily said as he laughed and then shook his head as Wes shot him the bird and entered another number as the panel beeped again.  “I don’t know what it was that JT ever saw in you.”

“It was more than what he saw in you, since he never got with you, pussy boy,” Wes stated as he typed another number into the security panel as the door clicked and then opened.  “Viola, I guess I can go in now.”

“Not without me,” Todd said as he pushed his way past Wes, entering the house.

“Jerk,” Wes stated as he walked through the door, entering JT’s main room.  “It doesn’t look like he’s been here in a while.”

“He’s supposed to be here,” Todd stated as he walked over to the security panel and pressed a button.  “JT, are you here?”

“If he were here, he would’ve been at the door to greet us when we were entering the wrong numbers on the panel out there stupid,” Wes said as he shook his head and then rolled his eyes.  “And you’re supposed to be smart… I guess looks really are deceiving.”

“You know what, I’m really not in the mood for any shit from you preppy,” Todd stated as he walked around Wes with his bags.  “I’m going to one of the guest…”

“That’s right, go to the guest room… You didn’t make the cut to be in his bedroom,” Wes stated as Todd stopped walking and then turned around quickly.

“Neither did you,” Todd stated as he shot Wes the bird and then turned back around and continued walking down the hall. “Bastard.”

Wes’ POV

“He’s nothing but a confused, fucked up prick,” I said, plopping down on the sofa as I turned on the television.

What is it that JT saw in that guy when the two of them met?  I just don’t get it.  Roddy-Toddy is nothing but a confused little man, that doesn’t know what he wants.  Hell, anyone in his shoes, that had been given the opportunities that he’s been given, he would know that dick is the way to go.  Hell, even I know that messing around with pussy will do nothing but cause problems for you.  With that bitch of a wife that he married, he should already have the proof of that.

“Some people… Some people don’t know when they have it good,” I said aloud as I continued flipping the channels on the television.

In one way, I do envy the bastard.  He has kids and that’s something I’ve always wanted.  I—I never had the chance to bring up the subject with JT when we were together years ago.  It seems when we were together, JT was always busy with his career.

JT never left room for anything else in his life, but his career.  I sometimes wondered if he really loved me or not.  I—I always felt like I was just an object to him and nothing more than that.  Years later, I realize that JT’s career is what kept him going through all the shit that his mother put him through.  It was his singing that kept his life together.  When he’s out on stage, JT puts all of himself into his song and that’s what I love about him.

“Hey,” I heard behind me as I looked up to see the confused prick.

“What is it that you want?”  I asked.

“Do you want something to eat?”  He asked, folding his arms across his chest.

“Why do you care?”  I asked.

“I’m hungry and I’m going to the kitchen to cook something.  There’s no sense in making a big mess for just myself,” he stated as I shook my head.

“What are you planning to make?”  I asked.

“Whatever it is that JT has in there, that’s edible,” he replied as I shook my head again as I continued flipping the channels, stopping on a music channel when I saw an image of JT and Justin Tanner.  What’s that all about?

“That’s JT and Justin Tanner.  What’re they doing together?”  I asked as more images flashed across the screen as images were shown of JT and Justin, kissing and another image of JT, Justin and a little boy.  What in the hell is going on?

“Who knows,” the prick said as I shook my head.

“Oh my fucking God!”  I snapped, pressing the button to turn the volume up.  “The screen says that he and Justin Tanner are married… He got married to Justin Tanner!”

“He did what,” the prick said as he moved around the sofa and then took a seat next to me as we both watched as more pictures were splashed across the screen of JT, Justin and a little boy that looked strangely like JT.

“I—I thought… I thought he was single again,” I said, trying to remember the way things went down in Philly when we were all there.  “What—what happened with Cameron?  He was with Cameron, not Justin.”

“With what we just saw on the TV, apparently a lot happened to Cameron,” the prick stated with a frown on his face.  “I wonder how he ended up with Justin Tanner of all people.  Justin is the one that caused so much heartache and pain in his life.”

“Guess he didn’t,” I said as he shook his head this time.  “Why would JT marry someone that had hurt him?”

“I don’t have an answer to that one,” he said as he got up off the sofa and then walked out of the room.

What in the hell is going on?  What in the hell is he doing with Justin Tanner?  The last I heard, he and Justin were—were just friends.  How can he and Justin be married right now?  What in the hell is going through his mind?  He just broke up with Cameron and here he is married to Justin Tanner.  Is this some kind of rebound relationship thing or what?  Sitting there, I watched more of the footage on the TV as I heard a door slam down the hall.

“I guess Roddy-Toddy isn’t happy about what he just saw,” I said aloud as I shook my head and then got up.  “It’s too late… I wasted way too much time.  I let someone else get my prize.”
