The Awakening – Chapter 16

Chapter 16 —End Game

Washington, D.C. – The Pentagon – The Restricted Prison Cell Area

Damn it, my head feels like someone used it to play a damn drum solo out on.  Did I get my ass beat or what?  What in the hell is going on?  Where in the hell am I?  The last thing I remember, I was on a date with Brian and now… Well, now I don’t know what’s going on and I can’t seem to get a fix on where I am.  Why can’t I get a psychic lock on my surroundings?  Are my powers working or is there something hindering me from using them?

“Uhhhh,” I groaned, opening my eyes but I didn’t see anything around me.

Am I in the dark?  I must be in the damn dark.  I can’t see anything, so I must be in the dark, duh.  But, being in the dark doesn’t explain why I’m not able to sense anything around me or where I am.  What in the hell is going on?  Where in the hell am I?

“Is there someone there?”  I heard a woman’s voice, but I didn’t know where the voice came from.

“Who are you?”  I asked, not able to get a psychic fix on the person the voice belonged to.

“I asked you first,” the woman spoke as I tried again to get a psychic fix on where the voice came from, but it seemed nothing worked in the mental power department for me.

“My name is Malevolent, what’s yours?”  I asked.

“What kind of name is Malevolent?”  The woman asked.

“It’s my name and it’s the only one you’re going to get out of me,” I replied, not knowing what to really expect, since I had no clue as to where I was, who this person was and who else was around.  I’m going to be using my codename until I get more information here.

“Fine, my name is Elaina,” the woman replied as there was a clicking sound and then there was light.  Finally, I’m able to see where I am and I’m not happy.  I’m in a big open space, a damn prison cell.  “You!”

“Me what,” I said, moving back quickly as there was a buzzing sound as she got up from where she sat and then moved into a fighting stance as her eyes glowed.  “Look, I don’t know who you are, but I’m not trying to get into a…”

“You don’t want to get into a fight… It’s way too late for that,” she said, waving her hand in my direction as I felt something lift me up off the floor and then I was thrown across the room, slamming into the wall.

“Owwww!”  I screamed, sliding down the wall.  “Look lady, I don’t know you.  I’m not going to allow you to do that again!”

“You have no choice in the matter!”  She screamed, raising her hand again as I shook my head, holding my hand out, trying to use my powers to block what she was doing.  It seems she’s psychic like me.  I wonder how psychic she really is.

Getting up from the floor quickly, I moved around, doing my best to avoid what she was throwing at me.  She’s trying to ram me with telekinetic energy.  I can feel the waves of energy from her, trying to push me backwards.  I have to stop this quickly, before it goes any further.  There’s no reason for the two of us to be fighting like this.  I don’t know her, she doesn’t know me.  Why did she come after me like that?

“Come on lady, I don’t know you.  I don’t want to fight with you here!”  I snapped as she took flight, floating over to where I stood as she attempted to punch me as I ducked and then pushed her backwards as she fell to the floor.  “Stop this!”

“No, I can’t!”  She snapped, getting up off the floor as she flew towards me as her hand sparkled with psychic energy as a mace materialized in her hand.

“Oh here we go!”  I snapped, using my powers to create my psychic sword, preparing to do battle with this unknown woman as she lunged at me with the mace, trying to pummel me in the head with it as I blocked her and then swung at her with my sword, knocking her down to the floor.  “Look, I don’t want to do this!  You might want to stop!  I am way more experienced at this than you are!”

“Don’t be so sure of that,” I heard someone else say as I looked around, trying to find out where the other voice came from.

“I’m not going to be easily defeated here,” I said as the woman got up off the floor quickly and then created a second mace in the other hand as she aimed both of them at me as I shook my head and then lashed out with my telekinesis, knocking her backwards to the floor.  “I take it that you are psychic and all and can pretty much do the same things as I, but I am far from just being psychic.  I am not going to let you hurt me damn it!”

“You don’t have a choice in the matter Malevolent.  She’s been mentally enhanced to your level, so she can defeat you,” the other voice spoke as I shook my head.

“I’m still not going to let her hurt me,” I said, keeping my eyes on her as I tried to detect anything else that could possibly happen around me as she tried to lunge for me again as I ducked out of the way as she fell to the floor.

“Are you going to use your magic on me Malevolent?”  The woman asked, getting up off the floor again and then lunging towards me again as I knocked her backwards again.  “Was that the use of your magic against me?”

“No, but it seems you’re looking for something,” I replied, waving my hand at her, holding her in place as I tried to think about what happened before I ended up in this place.

What in the hell did happen before I got to this damn prison cell?  How did I end up in this prison cell?  The last thing I remember happening, I—I was fighting… That’s it, I was fighting with someone, but who?  That’s it, I was fighting with Darren.  Damn it!  I can’t believe that fool was trying to take up for Ranger!

What in the hell is wrong with him?  I showed him all the things that Ranger did.  Why does he believe that Ranger is a good person and doesn’t mean us any harm?  I used my telepathy to show him all the things that Ranger had been doing to our kind of people, but it seems something else happened.  Damn it, Ranger must’ve done something.  What did that fucker do and how did I end up here with this damn woman, trying to kill me all of a sudden?  Then again, why is she asking me about my powers, mainly my magic?  Is there something else at play here?  Why do I get the feeling that there’s a bigger agenda going on?

Another Prison Cell Area

Tara’s POV

“No damn it, I would like to know what in the hell you were thinking!”  I snapped, looking over at Darren like he was crazy.  “What’s the deal with you and Malevolent?  Did you actually think you could win against him in a fight with magic?  He’s all powerful in…”

“I was thinking that I couldn’t allow him to use his magic to kill someone,” he replied, looking up at me.  “If he would’ve used his powers to kill that man, he would’ve thrown this world’s spiritual balance out of whack, dooming us all.”

“How do you know that?”  I asked, looking over at him.  “What’s really going on with you two?  A long while ago, he told me that there was more than meets the eye with you.  What did he mean by that Conjurer?  What is it that you’re hiding from me?”

“I’m not hiding anything from you baby,” he replied as I shook my head.  “I don’t know what he’s talking about.  He’s your friend, only you can decipher his cryptic messages.”

“Don’t be funny with me Conjurer,” I said as he looked down.  “I have a feeling you know what he means and you’re holding back something.  So, what is it?  Is there something about your powers that I don’t know?”

“Come on babe, you know everything there is to know about me and my powers,” he replied as I looked over at him strangely.

“I know everything,” I said as he nodded his head with a grim look on his face.  “I don’t’ really believe that Conjurer.  So, why don’t you enlighten me a bit.”

“Enlighten you in what way Darling?”  He asked as I shook my head again.

“You know what, I know you’re hiding something from me, but that’s okay.  I’m not going to worry about it right now, being that we’re trapped someplace with the enemy and we can’t seem to get out,” I said, hoping that would spark something in him to get him to use his magic to get us out of wherever it was we’re being held.  “We shouldn’t be trapped here like rats; we should be out of here, saving the others.”

“The others can save themselves, especially Malevolent,” he said as I shook my head, pissed off with his revelation.

“I’ve had enough of this!”  I snapped as I felt something deep within me open up as I slammed my fist into the wall, knocking a hole through to the other side, revealing a room where Zee, Walden and Caleb were being held.

“Darling!”  He exclaimed as I glared at him and then looked around quickly as I stepped through the hole, going to check out what was going on with the others.

“Alpha, Champion, Cat, are you guys all right?”  I asked, running over to where Walden lay on the floor.  “Alpha, can you hear me?”

“Yeah, I can hear you,” Walden replied as he opened his eyes and then looked up at me.  “What’s going on?  Where are we?  Am I on the floor?”

“Yeah, you’re on the floor, but I have no idea where we are or what’s going on,” I answered him as I looked around to see that Darren was helping Zee as I helped Walden stand.  “Have you seen Chase?”

“I haven’t seen the Speedy Gonzales wannabe since—since, I don’t remember when I last saw him,” Walden stated with a frown.  “What day is it?”

“That’s something I don’t know,” I replied as Zee and Caleb walked over to where we were.

“So, no one knows where we are, right?”  Zee spoke as I nodded my head at her.  “Something’s not right here.  I—I can’t change into the cat.”

“I don’t think any of our special powers are working,” I spoke as Walden looked at the wall and then back at me.

“If none of our powers are working, how did that big ass hole get there?”  Walden asked as Zee and Caleb looked at me strangely.

“I don’t think what’s going on here is effected by magic.  My powers come from magic,” I stated as Zee and Caleb raised an eye at me.

“You’re not like us?”  Zee asked as I shook my head.  “Well, isn’t that special.”

“Right now, it is,” I said as I looked around at Darren.  “We need to get out of here and find Malevolent and Chase.”

“We need to find the Asian guy also,” Caleb stated as I looked at him, wondering who he was referring to.

“What Asian guy?”  I asked.

“The one that tried to help me out.  He was fighting with General Ranger’s men when they were trying to get me, but he got knocked down.  That was the last thing I remember,” Caleb stated as he looked down.  “I—I think I know him…”

“Well, I guess that’s another person to add to the search list,” I said as I walked towards the opposite wall and then punched it, knocking a hole through it, so we could leave the room.

Zee’s POV

What in the world is going on around here?  Why am I not able to transform into the cat right now?  Is there something wrong with me?  Everything that JT taught me how to do, it’s not working right now.  What’s wrong with my powers?

Where in the hell are we?  Are we somewhere with the government?  I don’t know where in the hell I am and I’m scared as hell right now.  I can’t take this.  I need to get out into the open and be free.  I need to be free to be me!  I feel like I’m closed in, but I don’t know if that’s the case or not.

All I know right now, I’m someplace, scared and it seems the people I call my friends have some issues of their own.  The way Tara and Darren are looking at each other right now, I can tell there’s something going on between them, I just don’t know what that something is.  Walden is a bit quiet, but then again, he always seems quiet where I’m concerned and when I’m around.  I wonder what that means.  Caleb on the other hand, he’s very vocal, but what he’s spouting off right now isn’t worth listening to.

All of this is just not working out for me.  Not knowing where I am right now is scaring the hell out of me!  Then again, that’s not really scaring me, not being able to transform into the cat is scaring the hell out of me!  I can’t do this.  I need to be able to transform into a stronger, more confident version of…

“Cat, are you okay?”  I heard Caleb say as I felt something tapping my shoulder.

“Not really, but we need to find the others,” I replied, looking around just as Tara stepped in front of me and then punched the wall a few times, creating an opening for us to walk through as we stepped  into what looked like some kind of barbaric arena where we found JT and some woman, the two of them duking it out like there was no tomorrow.

“What in the hell is this?”  Tara asked as she jumped into the air, taking flight.

“No, stop that woman!”  Someone yelled as some military men rushed into the area, surrounding us and then firing their rifles into the air.  “Stop all of them fools, don’t let them escape!”

“No!  Get away from me!”  I screamed as one of the men grabbed me, trying to hold me tight as I struggled to get away from him.  “Don’t touch me!”

“Saturn!  Anima et Mens concursorum gravium![1]”  I heard JT yell as a sphere of energy appeared above his head as he reached up with his hand, grabbed the energy and then threw it at the man that I struggled with as the guy screamed out.  “Cat, are you okay?”

“I—I’m getting there,” I replied as he smiled weakly as I kicked the guy and then moved away from him.  “What’s going on here Malevolent?”

“I would like to know that myself.  What’s going on here Mal, are you okay?”  Tara asked, floating down to where he stood as there was a blinding flash of light as I had to shield my eyes.

“Well, there you are,” I heard someone say as I moved my arm to see a black woman standing in front of JT and Tara as he moved quickly to avoid the other woman that was trying to hurt him.

“Miz Melody?”  JT spoke, looking at the woman closely and then moved around again as he grabbed her by the arm, pulling her with him as Tara moved out the way also.  “What are you doing here?  How did you get here?”

“No baby, what are you doing here?”  The woman asked as JT raised his hand, using his powers to deflect the other woman’s attack.  “What’s going on here?”

“What’s going on here, that woman is trying to kill me because a mad man named General Ranger told her to!”  JT snapped, moving again as he raised his arm, using his powers to deflect what the woman was doing as she slid across the floor.  “Her name is Elaina Burns, she some kind of psychic that Ranger and his people have genetically tampered with and brainwashed.  She’s exhibiting different types of powers, but I don’t know what her true power is.”

“Hey, why are your powers working, but the rest of ours aren’t?”  I asked as he looked at me strangely and then ducked quickly to avoid being hit.  “I can’t change into the cat right now!”

“My best guess is that they have a power dampening field around you, that’s stopping you from changing,” he replied as he shook his head and then stood in one spot as he held up his hand.  “Enough!”

“Uh oh,” I heard Darren say as JT’s body glowed brightly, crackling with energy.

“I’ve had enough of this madness!”  JT snapped, gesturing with his hand at the woman as she floated in place, struggling against an invisible barrier.  “It’s time that I put an end to you and everything wrong here.”

“What are you going to do baby?”  The black woman asked as she moved closer to JT.  “You seem to be displaying a whole lot of power right now.  Don’t you do something that will cause a bigger problem.”

“That’s the problem Miz Melody,” JT stated as he shook his head.  “Me, not using my powers fully is why that mad man is in control of things now!”

“Baby, don’t do something that’s going to make things worse,” the woman spoke as there was a blur next to JT and then Brian appeared.  I wonder where he’s been all this time.

“I’m going to do what I should’ve done a long time ago,” JT stated as the woman grabbed his hand as his eyes glowed brightly, projecting beams of energy through the area as everything got too bright to see.

“Malevolent, what are you doing?  What’s going on, I can’t see!”  I heard Brian yell as I heard others screaming around me.

I can’t see anything and I would like to know what’s going on to make people scream like that.  Attempting to open my eyes again, the light was still too bright and I wasn’t able to see anything.  What is JT doing?  What did he mean by he was going to do what he should’ve done a long time ago.  What should he have done?

“Malevolent, please stop!”  I heard Brian’s voice again, but still didn’t know what was going on.

“Baby, you might want to do what he says.  I’m not liking what I’m feeling right now,” I heard that strange looking woman say.  “You need to stop what you are doing and just come back with me.”

“I’m not going to stop and I’m not going back with you!”  I heard JT snap as someone else screamed.  “Those people are trying to take advantage of our kind and I’m not going to allow them to do that.  If it was all up to Ranger, he would want nothing more than for us to be his damn slaves! I am not going to be his slave!”

“Well if you’re not going back with me and you’re not going to stop, how can I get you to see the big picture here?”  The strange looking woman asked.  “You must stop what you’re doing or you’re going to destroy this world!”

“I am not going to destroy the world, it’s going to be cleansed—cleansed of this damn evil that monster created!”  JT screamed as I felt something deep within me tingle.  “That monster has plagued this world for far too long!”

“You stopping this monster will only open the door for more monsters baby,” I heard Brian’s voice next.  “There’s got to be another way.  Please stop what you’re doing, there has to be another way.”

“There isn’t another way!”  JT snapped as the ground started to rumble.  “Ranger and his followers will only continue doing what they are doing.  They don’t care about people like us!”

“But you killing him, will make you just like him,” Brian said as JT sighed and then there was another scream.  “Don’t be like him baby.  I don’t want to be married to a killer.  If you love me and want to marry me, you’ll find a different way to stop him.”

“Fine,” JT spoke as I heard what sounded like things falling to the ground.

“Thank God, I can see again,” I heard Tara’s voice as I moved my arm and then opened my eyes to see that the light generated by JT was gone.

“Stupid fool!  You should’ve killed me when you had the chance,” General Ranger spoke as he got up from the ground and started walking towards all of us as he laughed.  “You fucked up freak!”

“Guy, your life was spared, you should be thanking the stars that you are alive,” I said as the guy kept walking towards us, like he didn’t care.

“Condemning me to death would’ve only ignited a war between the humans and your kind.  Had that freak killed me, it would’ve only destroyed your kind in the end,” General Ranger spoke as Tara shook her head.

“Big talk for a small man,” Tara spoke as General Ranger turned and looked at her.

“As I was saying, you should’ve killed me, but now that you haven’t, a war will be waged and I’ll be victorious freak!”  General Ranger exclaimed as he raised both of his hands, laughing maniacally.

“Stand down General,” someone else spoke as I looked around, trying to see who it was as I noticed a man walking from the shadows.  “I’ve witnessed too much here and what I’ve been witness to, needs to change.”

“Who are you?”  JT asked as he stepped back a bit, taking on a defensive stance as his hands sparkled with energy.

“You needn’t worry about who I am,” the man spoke as he got up close to General Ranger and then punched him in the face, knocking him out as his body fell to the ground.  “What you need to worry about is getting out of here now, all of you.”

“You—you’re just going to let us go?”  I asked, looking at the man like he was crazy.

“This is a restricted military operations base, none of you should be here right now.  I’m going to disavow all knowledge of you all being here,” the man said as JT shook his head.

“Why are you going to do that?”  JT asked, looking at the man strangely as I moved closer to him, seeing that his eyes were glowing an eerie purple color.

“You’re not supposed to be here, any of you,” the man replied as he looked down and then stepped over General Ranger’s body.  “The longer you all remain here, the shorter that directive will go.  What I’m saying is, the quicker you get out of here, the less time it would take for someone here to take action to arrest you for breaking laws against the government.”

“We didn’t break any laws against the government, that fool…” JT spoke as the man shook his head.

“From what I saw, you young man did break the law.  A few days ago, you flew upon these grounds, using unknown, destructive means to destroy government property,” the man stated as he looked over at JT.  “That action alone would get one arrested, but seeing that in some strange sense, you were defending yourself against the moron’s past actions against you.  For now, I’ll look past that, but you all must leave here now.”

“Malevolent, I think we need to just call this a win and leave,” Tara stated as she grabbed JT’s hand.

“Come on baby, let’s just end this and leave,” Brian said as he grabbed JT’s other hand.

“He’s not stopped,” JT spoke, looking over at General Ranger’s body that lay on the ground.  “He’s an evil man that needs to be completely stopped.  He’s only going to resume what he was doing.”

“He’s not going to resume anything here,” the man stated as he dropped the cigar he smoked on the ground and then put it out with his foot.  “I can assure you—all of you, that you don’t have to worry about General Ranger.”

“Sounds very good to me,” the strange looking woman said as she looked over at JT.

“Come on, he’s stopped for now, let’s just take this for a win,” Tara spoke, tugging on JT’s hand as he sighed.

“Fine, you deal with that monster.  If he rears his ugly head again, I’ll take him down, that’s a promise,” JT stated as he looked at Tara and then at Brian as his eyes started to shimmer with energy as everything around him got bright.

An Ending…

Chapter 5 — Reality or …

Mar 2, 1996 – Jacksonville, FL – X-Ternals’ Complex – Donna James’ Quarters

“What in the hell is going on around here?  It feels like I’m losing my damn mind,” Donna said as she shook her head.

“Maybe you are,” Donna heard behind her as she turned around to see JT standing there in the shadows.

“JT, what’re you doing in here?”  Donna asked.

“No Donna, the question is, what are you doing here?”  JT asked, smiling evilly as he moved closer to where Donna lay on the bed as her eyes glowed, signaling that she was using her telepathic powers.  “Nah ah, you can’t use those mind powers on me Donna.”

“What in the hell is going on here JT?  What are you doing?”  Donna asked.

“It’s not a matter of what I’m doing, it’s a matter of what I’m not doing,” JT replied, smiling again as he moved closer to her as he waved his hand as she floated off the bed.

“What in the hell are you going?”  Donna asked.

“I’m releasing you from the constraints of this life,” JT stated as he moved his hand in a ‘Z’ formation over Donna’s body as she screamed out.  “Have fun Tele Girl, I’m sure you’ll love it!”

Somewhere in Georgia – An Unknown Medical Complex

“Courtney!  Courtney, where in the hell are you?” JT called out, walking into a hospital exam room.

“What’s the deal JT?  What’s with all the screaming?”  A young woman asked, walking into the room behind him.

“What in the hell is going on?”  JT asked, looking at the young woman.

“What are you talking about?”  The young woman asked.

“Don’t play with me Courtney, I’m not in the mood right now,” JT stated, looking at the young woman closely as if there was something wrong.

“What’s going on?”  The young woman asked, patting JT on the shoulder.

“Look, I don’t know what’s going on, but something’s not right here,” JT stated, shaking his head.

“What’s wrong JT?”  The young woman asked, looking at JT strangely.

“I wasn’t trying to get here.  I was trying to get to Mother Divine’s house so I could stop her, finally,” JT stated as the young woman looked at him strangely as he tapped his foot.  “What’s going on?  Why did I appear here and not there?”

“What are you talking about?  Where is this Mother Divine’s house?  Who’s that?  Did you get a pass to leave?”  The young woman asked as JT looked at her strangely.  “JT, are you okay?”

“Yes, I’m okay Courtney.  What’s the big deal?  Why did I appear here and not at Mother Divine’s house?”  JT asked.  “Once I take care of her, I can get back to my life and go find Joey and have a good time with him.”

“You can have fun with Joey?  Who’s Joey?”  The young woman asked.

“Oh come on, you should know who he is, he’s the guy I’ve been dating.  You know, the boy band member from the singing group All Star.  Joey Fallon, he’s my boyfriend,” JT stated, looking at the young woman strangely.

“I don’t know who you’re talking about JT.  When did you get a boyfriend JT?  Are you gay?  What happened to Danielle?”  The young woman asked.

“What?  Danielle?  Have you been drinking girl?”  JT asked, shaking his head.  “You know I’m gay and I’ve always been that way.  Stop playing stupid girl.”

“No, I haven’t been drinking, but maybe you have,” the young woman stated as she walked over to JT and then touched his forehead, acting as if she were checking his temperature.  “Did you go and have one of your special dreams again?”

“Did I have a special dream again?  What are you talking about Courtney?”  JT asked, looking at the young woman strangely as he looked around the room.

“Now I get it, that’s what it is.  You did have one of your special dreams again.  Come with me,” the young woman stated as she took JT’s hand, leading him down the hall to a room.  “Let’s get you back to bed and get you your medication.”

“What!  What in the hell is going on here?  I don’t take medication!”  JT screamed, pushing the young woman away from him as he tried to move away from her.  “Get away from me!”

“Come on JT, get back into bed.  It seems you’ve had a bad night,” the young woman stated.

“A bad night!  I didn’t have a bad damn night!  What are you talking about?  Where’s Joey?”  JT asked as the tears streamed down his face.  “Uncle!  A’Mora!  Pamela!  Ashley!”

“Come on JT, calm down buddy,” the young woman stated as she waved her hand at JT.

“No!”  JT screamed.

“You stay here and I’ll go get Danielle,” the young woman stated as she walked out of the room.

“What in the hell is going on here?  Where’s Joey?  Why is she talking about Danielle?  Maybe—maybe I’m losing my mind again.  Am—am I still with those crazy people that were trying to convert me from being gay to straight?  What in the hell is going on here?  Did the others really rescue me or was that all a dream?”  JT asked as the young woman returned to the room with a familiar looking, unwanted girl.

“Are you okay JT?  Courtney told me that you were having a bad time.  Have you taken your medications today?”  The girl asked.

“Danielle Drake?!  God please tell me that I’m dreaming!”  JT snapped, closing his eyes as he waved his hand as if he was trying to use his powers to teleport away, but nothing happened.  “Oh God, nothing’s happening!”

“JT, what are you doing?”  The girl asked.

“I’m trying to teleport away from here!”  JT snapped, backing away from the two young women as he backed up against the wall.

“Oh no, he’s feeling trapped.  I was afraid this was going to happen,” the first young woman stated as she shook her head.

“Get away from me!  I’ll kill both of you if you don’t stay away from me!”  JT yelled, holding his hand out in front of his body, expecting something to happen, but nothing did.

“JT, what are you doing?  What has gotten you into such a mood tonight?”  The girl asked.

“Stay away from me!  Don’t come near me!  This must be some kind of sick game!”  JT snapped, pushing past the two young women as he ran from the room.

“We don’t need this tonight.  Call Martin and tell him that JT is having one of his moments again,” the first young woman spoke as she walked out of the room to locate JT.

“Hi Martin, Danielle here… It seems JT has flipped out again.  I need you to find him and then bring him back to his room.  Be warned, you might need to restrain him if he’s acting a little off,” the girl spoke into a walkie-talkie.

= Gotcha boss lady. =

“It couldn’t have been a dream… it was so damn real.  It was all so real,” JT stated, hiding in the corner as he cried.  “I know I’m not that crazy.  They were real… it was all real.  I was there, my friends, the X-Ternals… they are all real.  I’m not crazy.  I—I’m not crazy.  I’m still asleep… That’s what it is.  I’m still dreaming, I have to be dreaming.  This—this isn’t make any sense.  I—I was happy—I was so happy.  I was a super hero.  I—I finally had someone that—that I was supposed to love, that’s supposed to love me. I…”

“You know… you really have some weird dreams JT,” JT heard as he looked up to see the young woman standing there, looking down at him.  “Alright JT, come on, let’s get you back to your room.”

“I don’t want to go.  Just leave me alone,” JT stated, wiping at his eyes.  “I just want to be left alone.”

“Well what you want right now isn’t what you’re going to get.  You’re going back to your room and back to bed.  Come on buddy, let’s go,” the young woman stated, grabbing JT by the hand as she pulled him up to his feet.

“Let go!”  JT screamed, kicking the young woman on her leg.

“Owww!  I didn’t want it to come to this,” the young woman stated as she pulled a syringe from her pocket, pulling the cap off as JT shook his head.

“No!”  JT screamed.

“I’m sorry JT,” the young woman stated as she stuck the needle into a bottle and then inserted the contents of the syringe into JT’s arm.  “You should be feeling that any moment now.”

“What have you done to me?  Why are you doing this to me?”  JT asked, shaking his head as he fell backwards against the wall, feeling the effects of the medication that was injected into him.  “No, I don’t want to sleep, I need to find Joey… Why Destiny, why did you…”

“That’s right JT, go back to sleep,” the young woman stated with a frown.

“No, I—I was his… I was—I was his… I was his super hero,” JT spoke as he slid down the wall, falling into a deep sleep.

Between Here and There – The Limbo Dimension – Castle Limbo

Necroloque’s POV

Lawd, what have I done to my boy?  Why did I do that to him?  I know what I’ve done is going to cause a bigger problem in the long run, but I just couldn’t allow him to return to Earth to kill my sister, his aunt.  The way he acted, he was hysterical and he was going to do any and everything he possibly could to carry his wishes out.

This is all one big damn mess.  I shouldn’t have done things the way I did, but it seems I had no choice in the matter.  I couldn’t allow him to do what he had his mind set to do.  I now when his memory returns of what I did; he’s going to be just as upset with me, as he is with his aunt for what she did to him.

“There’s really no easy resolution to this matter,” I heard behind me as I turned around see my sister, the person responsible for all of this madness in the first place.

“You, how did you get here to Limbo?”  I asked as she frowned.

“I thought you would’ve asked why was I here, not how I got here,” she said as I shook my head.

“There’s no reason for you being here.  You’ve caused enough problems as it is,” I said as she shook her head.

“I wasn’t trying to cause a problem my brother,” she said as I sighed.

“What in the hell were you trying to do then?”  I asked as she looked down.

“I was trying to save his eternal soul,” she replied as I turned my back to her and then turned around quickly, not knowing if she would try something stupid with me too.

“There’s nothing wrong with his soul,” I said as she looked at me strangely.  “If there were something so wrong with him, do you think the Elders would put so much faith in him and…”

“He’s a chosen one, just like the rest of us,” she said as I shook my head again.

“Yes, he’s a chosen one and yet you used your powers against him!”  I snapped as she looked up at me as if I had slapped her.  “You took his powers away and almost allowed some damn mortal to kill him!”

“That’s not…” she said, stepping backwards as the castle walls shook.

“Why did you do that to him?  Had I remained on the mortal plane with you all, would you have done the same thing to me?”  I asked as she looked around quickly as the castle walls continued rumbling.

“I—I don’t know the answer to that,” she replied, looking down again.  “I don’t know what I would’ve done in regards to you.”

“Then why in the hell did you have to do it to him?”  I asked.  “Do you know how hard his life has been without your damn meddling?”

“I—I wasn’t meddling in his life,” she spoke up as I shook my head as she looked around again as the creatures of the castle grumbled.

“Where should I start woman?”  I asked as she looked at me as I waved my hand at the scrying glass as it glowed brightly.

“What are you doing?”  She asked.

“I’m showing you what your meddling has done over the years to cause a big problem,” I said as she looked at me strangely.  “I may not be on the mortal plane with the rest of you, but I do see what you do.”

“What are you talking about?”  She asked.

“Let’s start here,” I said as the images in the mirror stopped flashing, showing an image of one of my boy’s best friends.  “Strike one, you used your powers on his best friend to cause a problem in the lives of others.”

“You have to be a bit clearer than that.  Who’s that in the mirror?”  She asked, looking at me as if I were crazy.

“Okay, play crazy then,” I said as she shook her head.  “You cast a spell on Hank Hart and made him assume the form of Timmy.  You used your powers, playing with his mind, actually making him think he was Timmy for a time.  You had that lil white boy doing all sorts of things with other men while he looked and acted like Timmy.  Hank’s actions led Kevin to believe that Timmy was sleeping around with other men, which led to the problems that developed between the two of them.  That mess screwed Timmy’s mind up so much that he broke the Elders’ rules and went back in time to see what actually happened.  In the process of him investigating in the past, he made a mistake somewhere and things changed, which rewrote the present, changing Kevin’s name from James Jack to Kevin James.”

“I—I had nothing to do with that, you’re lying… You’re wrong!”  She snapped as I shook my head and then waved my hand at the mirror as the images changed, showing her casting the spell on Hank as her expression changed.

“Am I wrong now?”  I asked as she looked down.

“Strike two,” I said as she sighed.  “Danielle Drake, Mara Drake’s daughter from an alternate future.  Why in the hell did you conjure that evil charlatan whore from the whole in time she came from?”

“Who are you referring to?”  She asked as I shook my head, snapping my fingers as the images on the mirror’s reflection changed.

“That’s who I’m referring to!”  I snapped as the castle walls shook and rumbled again.  “You allowed that tramp to come back to the past and she did nothing but cause problems for Timmy and his friends.  Do you know the actual hell she created for him and his friends?”

“I did no such thing,” she stated as I shook my head, snapping my fingers again as the images in the mirror changed, showing an image of her as the person she had summoned from the future emerged from a time portal.

“You allowed that vixen to come back to the past and trick him into thinking that she was Mara.  Everyone thought that Danielle was Mara for over a year, before she slipped up and was figured out when Timmy used his psychic powers against her,” I explained as she had this blank look on her face.  “The stuff that lil tramp did to him and his friends wasn’t a pretty sight.  The things she did, a teenager shouldn’t have to experience.”

“That wasn’t my fault, I can’t control what a person does when…” she said as I shook my head and held up my hand, stopping her from saying more.

“Okay then, what about the Sword of Legions?”  I asked as she closed her mouth.  “Ah, I see I have your attention now.”

“He—he wasn’t ready for that,” she said, looking down again.  “He would’ve destroyed this planet if he held onto that sword for too long.”

“So, to keep him from mastering it, like his destiny says he must, you go back in time, find it before he does and hurls it into Limbo, where it was lost for millennia; only to be found by the souls of this realm and corrupted with their energy, which in turn, changed his destiny,” I stated as she shook her head.

“No no, that wasn’t supposed to happen,” she said.

“What did you think would happen to the world, having it be here and not where it was supposed to be woman?  How would he find it here and learn to use it to save the lives he was meant to save?  Because of your actions, he mastered the powers of Limbo a little bit too late!”  I screamed as the castle walls rumbled.  “Because of your damn actions, countless lives were ruined!”

“Stop this!  Stop this right now!”  She screamed as her eyes glowed.

“Sorry sister, this is my domain, I rule here, not you,” I said, floating off the floor as chains flew at her from multiple directions, grabbing her and wrapping her up.  “Because of your actions, your meddling in the life of my boy, I had to erase his memory and heart of the hatred you created!  I sent him back to Earth, recycled!  What’s happening to him is all your fault!”

“No!  Let me go!”  She screamed as I floated above her as my magical chains held her tight.

“No my sister, I am not going to let you go.  I’m going to leave you locked up here in Limbo,” I said, turning away from her.  “You’ll stay here until there’s a resolution to what you’ve done!”

“Divine!”  She screamed as the castle walls rumbled again.  “Divine!  Might of…”

“We won’t be having any of that!”  I screamed as I held out my hand in her direction.  “Ankh!  Egyptian Cruxata!”

“No!”  She screamed out as I used my powers to seal her mouth, not allowing her to speak.

“As I was saying, until I find a way to fix things with my boy, you will remain here so you won’t cause any more trouble for him or anyone else,” I said, floating down to the mirror, snapping my fingers as an image showed of my boy as he lies in bed, crying in the place that I had put him, tricking him into thinking that he had no powers and the life he’s led has been nothing but a dream.  How am I going to fix this problem that she created, that I’ve helped her make worse?

“My liege… there seems to be a mystical occurrence that involves the Prince of this Realm,” the spirit of the mirror spoke as I turned around to look to see was my sister where I left her.

“What kind of mystical occurrence?”  I asked as the reflection in the mirror changed, showing my boy in Jacksonville with one of his friends and he’s fighting.  “What in… That’s not possible.  My boy isn’t there in Jacksonville, he’s where I put him.”

“My liege, that is the essence of the Prince of this Realm,” the spirit of the mirror spoke again.  “The mystical occurrence tied to that essence is channeling chaos magic and warping the spiritual plane of the Earth, creating multiple variances in the plane.”

“How did that happen?  How did this essence take on the form of the Prince?”  I asked.

“That query is unknown my liege,” the spirit of the mirror replied as I looked around, checking to see that my sister was still where I had left her as I waved my hand at the mirror to see that my boy was still where I had placed him.  “I guess this means I’m going to find out what this essence is.”

“I advise against that my liege,” the spirit of the mirror spoke.

“Why is that?”  I asked.

“You would become susceptible to the effects of the chaos magic that the essence is channeling,” the spirit of the mirror spoke again.  “Your spirit could become corrupted and you would become Necroloque…”

“I’ll find a way around that,” I said, waving my hand in the air, creating a portal to take me to that thing so I could get to the bottom of why that thing was pretending to be my boy.

Mar 15, 1996 – Downtown Jacksonville, FL

“Ha ha ha!”  JT laughed, flying past A’Mora as he threw a sphere of energy at her, knocking her off the earth-slide she stood upon.  “Hear me X-Ternals, no longer am I the man that you knew and loved, I am forever Chaos!  Beware, for I will kill you all!”

“What in the hell is up with all of this shit?”  Barbara asked, projecting beams of ice at JT, missing him.

“Silly woman, do you really think your ice can stop me?”  JT asked, laughing again as he flew past Barbara, zapping her with a bolt of energy, knocking her off of her ice-slide as she fell to the ground, her body shattering into small pieces of ice.

“Oh no, that doesn’t look good at all!”  Andy Claybourne said as he stopped in place.  “Something’s wrong with him, I can’t reach him telepathically.”

“Have you ever been able to reach him telepathically before Speedster?”  Hank asked, flying past Andy as A’Mora appeared next to him.  “Has anyone been able to find Donna yet?”

“I haven’t heard from Donna, Telly or Paul,” Andy replied, looking up.  “Has any of you?”

“Telly, you near?”  Hank asked, tapping a button on his communicator.

“I’m right here buddy,” Telly replied, appearing in a strange phenomenon in mid-air.  “I got Golem with me, but he’s not feeling so hot right now.  Is Barbara okay, is she going to reform or what?”

“I can’t answer about Barbara right now.  What’s wrong with him?”  Hank asked, looking at Telly.

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed this or not, but JT isn’t acting normal right now and that should be the question on everybody’s mind,” Telly stated, looking at Hank strangely.

“How am I supposed to fight him?”  Paul Stanton asked, looking at Hank.  “I’m just an ordinary guy in a robotic suit of armor.”

“Do your best my friend, that’s all any of us can ask,” Hank stated as Telly and Paul disappeared and then reappeared on the ground.

“What in the hell are we going to do?  This is JT here!”  Laura Lynn screamed, running past as she threw an explosive energy sphere at JT.  “He’s one of us!”

“He was one of us, now he’s the evil doer!”  Hank yelled, flying past as he grabbed Laura by her hand, carrying her through the air.  “Team two, come on through!”

“This hit and run shit isn’t working Onyx,” Laura stated as she and Hank streaked through the sky.

“What do you expect us to do here Plastyque?”  Hank asked as the two of them floated in mid-air.  “He’s more powerful than all of us put together.  How do we stop someone with the powers of a god?”

“Hah, your guess is good as mine,” Laura replied as JT appeared in front of the two of them, waving his hand as waves of telekinetic might knocked her and Hank down to the ground.  “Damn it… How are we going to stop a telepath that knows our every move?”

“You can’t!”  JT screamed, appearing down on the ground in front of Hank and Laura as he smiled evilly as he waved his hand, using his powers to slam both of them against a wall.

“Damn it!  Has anyone been able to find Donna?”  Hank asked, leaning up on his elbows as he rubbed at his head as he looked over at Laura.

“Donna shouldn’t be your main concern right now,” the two of them heard as JT smiled as his hand crackled with energy.

“It shouldn’t be your concern either,” the three of them heard as Hank got up in a hurry as JT disappeared.

“Celeste, what are you doing here?”  Hank asked, moving over to the woman.  “Is there something wrong?”

“Oh yeah, there’s something very wrong,” the woman replied as she looked at Hank closely.  “The fate of the planet is at stake at this very moment.”

“Oh great… There’s something else to worry about,” Laura stated, walking over to where Hank and the woman stood.

“If I remember correctly, you said you would never appear, appear here, unless there was something happening that threatens the planet,” Hank stated.

“And that’s why I’m here right now,” the woman stated, waving her hand as there were multiple flashes of light as different X-Ternals’ members appeared.

“What in the hell is going on?”  Telly asked, appearing as he looked around.  “We were getting ready to drop down on JT when we vanished and then appeared here.  What the hell happened?”

“I brought you here,” the woman stated as Telly shook his head.

“I should’ve known… Malaphyion, why are you here?”  Telly asked, looking around at the others near him.  “Are you here to tell us that there’s some drastic thing happening to the universe right now?  If so, take a damn number, we’re already knee deep in shit of our own.  We’re currently fighting a fool and now she has something new for us.  I’m not into it lady!”

“Don’t listen to his rants and ravings Celeste,” A’Mora stated, looking at the woman.  “Why are you here though?  What can be happening, bigger than what we’re dealing with right now?”

“What’s happening is chaos.  Chaos has been released into the world,” the woman identified as Celeste spoke.  “If that chaos isn’t stopped and put back where it belongs, this world will surely end.”

“Well it’s very funny that you mention that,” Hank said, shaking his head.  “JT’s now calling himself Chaos.”

“What?  Oh no,” Celeste stated, looking down at her hand, looking at an image there.  “If that’s the case, he’s ben inhabited by the spirit of Chaos.”

“That’s just what we fucking need right now!”  Telly yelled, shaking his head again.  “How are we going to stop him?”

“There isn’t a way to stop him,” Celeste replied, looking down.

“There has to be a way to stop him and to make things right,” A’Mora stated, frowning as she shook her head.

“Regardless of what’s going on right now, I think he’s done something to Donna,” Hank stated as he looked up at Celeste.  “No one knows where she is.”

“Why is that?”  Celeste asked, looking at Hank strangely.

“Probably because she would’ve been able to telepathically sense that something was wrong with him,” Hank stated, punching his hand into the nearest tree.  “She’s the only one of us that is a good enough telepath like he is that could…”

“I don’t think that’s the case Hank,” A’Mora stated, looking around.  “Andy could’ve easily used his telepathy to detect that there was something wrong with…”

“No he couldn’t, he hasn’t been around lately,” Hank stated, glaring at A’Mora.  “He’s been at home, brooding about things he change!”

“Cut it out Hank, we don’t have time for that,” A’Mora stated, sighing as she looked over at Celeste.  “Regardless of that, Andy could’ve used his telepathy to detect if something was wrong with JT and so could Wanda, myself or Kayla.  Donna isn’t the only one of us with an affinity to detect when something is amiss around with the psychic world.”

“But Donna is the only one of us that is able to use her telepathic abilities on a level that rivals JT’s powers,” Hank stated as he looked over at A’Mora, waiting for her to say more.  “When it comes to psychics on his team, it’s JT and Donna that reign supreme in that area.”

“You have a point, but there are other means of detecting…” A’Mora stated as Hank shook his head, interrupting her again.

“We don’t have time for this argument!”  Hank snapped, turning around.  “I think we need to get back to HQ and figure out what we’re going to do to solve things with JT and this so-called chaos that has been released into the world.”

“Yea, we need to tend to our wounded also,” A’Mora said as she glared at Hank as she and Andy walked towards where Barbara lay on the ground.

The Chaos Factor – Chapter 1

Chapter 1 – A Comet Strikes, Not!

Feb 3, 1996 – Jacksonville, FL – X-Ternals’ Compound – The Command Center

“Computer, what is the status of Team One?”  I spoke, tapping keys on the computer’s console as I waited for the computer to tell me the information I requested.

= The current ETA for team one is ten minutes =

“Thank you computer,” I spoke, continuing my task of tapping keys as a view screen next to me activated as Michura’s image was displayed.  “Hello Michura, is there a problem?”

= Not a one boss.  Just checking in to let you know that we’re on our way back to HQ. =

“Okay, I’ll see you guys when you get back here,” I said as the image on the screen changed and I saw Joey Fallon’s face.

= Okay boss, Atlantis out. =

“Base out,” I said, tapping a key on the console as the view screen shut off.

I suppose today is my lucky day—a day I’ve been somewhat dreading, since I returned back here from Texas six months ago.  I shouldn’t be dreading this day, but I mainly fear what will happen when I see Joey Fallon in person again.  It’s been six months since I’ve seen him and I fear the distance that was created between us when I decided to leave the tour will cause a bigger problem in the long run.

I guess I shouldn’t be scared of what could possibly happen when we reunite.  I guess I should be more fearful of how things will play out when my true feelings come into play.  On instinct, at the height of the tour, I told the others that I couldn’t be objective enough to be Joey’s bodyguard and had someone else replace me in that regard.  The team put up a fuss about my decision, but after voicing my fears of what could happen and telling a little bitty lie about a vision I supposedly had, they agreed that me being Joey’s bodyguard and being in a relationship with him would cause some issues.  So, based on multiple observances of past events between the two of us, I decided that it would be beneficial to the team and to Joey that I return back here to the complex while A’Mora guarded him.

“God, I don’t know what to really think here,” I said aloud, turning away from the computer console as I covered my eyes.  “JT, what are you going to do about the situation you’ve caused here?  What’s going to happen here today, is going to be my own doing.  I won’t be able to blame anyone else for this madness.  The only one to blame for this is me.”

So JT, how are you going to solve this big problem that’s about to brew here?  I wish there was an easy method of fixing this, but I doubt there is one.  I’m currently in a bind that I don’t know how or even if I should try to get out of… Why am I even fretting about this?  This is the fault of the Elders of the Universe.  The Elders claim that Joey and I are destined to be together, that he’s my soul mate.  I know they are the means to all things in the universe, but are they sure that Joey Fallon is my soul mate and not Drew Claybourne or Kevin Edenfield… those are the guys that have touched my heart in some way and those are the guys that I think about when I envision the future.  So, the Elders telling me that I’m destined to be with Joey, I’m skeptical of that fact.

Regardless of what I do, today is the day that I’ll be reunited with the man that’s destined to be my soul mate and believes that we’re in a relationship together.  Due to my commitments here to the team, I’ve done what I could to keep myself busy, so that I haven’t had much time to actually spend with Joey or to pursue anything with him, further than just a phone call here and there.

When I heard that the tour was over and the guys of All Star would have some down time, I was scared and elated at the same time.  Now that I’ve calmed down a bit, I don’t know if seeing Joey Fallon would be a good idea or not.  Regardless of how I feel about seeing him, I have no choice in the matter now that the jet just touched down in the hanger.

A Few Stories Down – The Hanger

“Alright guys, it’s safe for us to disembark from the jet,” Michura stated, removing her seat belt and then pressing a button on the console as the jet doors opened. “Let’s get to JT and give him our reports and call it a day.”

“I’m with you on that one,” Barbara stated as she, Hank and Tyler stepped out of the jet as Michura turned around and looked at A’Mora and then Joey.

“A’Mora, is there something wrong?”  Michura asked, stopping at the exit doors.  “You’ve been quiet since we left LA.”

“I feel something’s wrong,” A’Mora stated, shaking her head as she got up from the seat as Joey walked past her.

“What could possibly be wrong girl?”  Barbara asked, walking over to A’Mora as Joey walked past her.

“I—I don’t know right now.  I—I just have this feeling that something’s going to happen,” A’Mora stated as Barbara frowned.

“Did you have a vision of the future or…” Michura spoke as Barbara interrupted her.

“We’ve been villain free for weeks.  Please say we get to have some much-needed down time,” Barbara stated as Joey looked at her and then frowned.

“I don’t think I can say that Barbara,” A’Mora stated as her eyes glowed an eerie pink color as her hair changed from its normal light purple color to a darker purple color.

“I’m still new to all of this, but what’s going on with her hair?”  Joey asked, stepping backwards away from A’Mora.  “I’m sure her hair isn’t supposed to be doing that.”

“Are you okay A’Mora?”  Barbara asked as A’Mora waved her hand, disappearing from the area.  “Okay, something’s definitely wrong with this picture.”

“Yeah and I’m not happy about it,” Michura said as they all stopped when the red alert siren sounded.  “Oh that’s just fucking great!”

“Let’s get to the command center,” Barbara stated as she tapped some numbers into the keyboard on the exit doors as the doors opened as they all rushed out of the area, heading down the corridor quickly.

The Command Center

“Computer, switch to aerial view!”  JT demanded as a few view screens in the room activated.

“What’s going on here JT?”  A’Mora asked, appearing in the room.

“Apparently, a whole lot is going on,” JT replied, pressing buttons on the computer console as a few of the view screens changed.

“Oh God, what is that thing?”  A’Mora asked, pointing at one of the screens.

“It looks to be a comet,” JT replied as A’Mora walked up behind JT.

“That can’t be a comet JT,” A’Mora stated as she shook her head.  “That thing is moving rather fast to be a comet.  If that was a natural phenomenon, it wouldn’t be…”

“It can’t be a real comet,” JT stated as he turned around.  “I normally detect natural occurrences such as this, but I didn’t detect it.  Had it not been for our satellites, I never would’ve known it was up there.  It seems that thing has caught the attention of every satellite in space, opening the eyes of every space agency on the planet.”

“So, we’re not the only ones tracking this thing,” A’Mora said as JT nodded his head.  “Well that’s just great.”

“I believe there are separate agencies in the government tracking this thing as well as us,” JT stated as he pressed a button on the computer console.  “But it seems our satellite picked it up first and that thing has done something to knock our satellite out of its original orbit.”

“How are we seeing this stuff right now then?”  A’Mora asked.

“I had to use my skills to hack into a different satellite.  I piggy-backed on one of the other satellite signals to get the current images we have” JT replied, pressing another button on the console.  “Our satellite is trapped in the tail of that so-called comet and it, along with our satellite is heading towards the planet at a tremendous speed.”

“What!  Why are we sitting here then?  Why aren’t we trying to stop that thing?”  A’Mora asked as the doors to the room opened and the others rushed in.

= Spatial Travel Intruder Detected =

“Yo’ bro, what’s going on?”  Telly Scott asked, appearing in the room.

“Helix, what are you doing here?”  JT asked, looking at the young man that appeared across from him.

“I saw on the news that something from space was heading this way,” Telly replied as he smiled widely.  “So, is the X-Ternals going to knock that thing out of orbit or what?”

“What’s with the red alert JT?”  Michura asked, standing at the table.

“There seems to be a strange, unearthly phenomenon heading towards the planet from space,” JT stated, pointing at one of the view screens.  “That thing is going to crash down real soon and…”

“Look at the size of that damn thing!”  Barbara screamed, covering her mouth.  “If that thing crashes down somewhere, it’s going to destroy a whole lot!”

“Bro, we can’t allow that to happen,” Telly stated, shaking his head.

“What in the hell are we waiting for?”  Barbara asked, looking over at JT.

“I’m waiting to see if anyone in the government tries to do something about that thing first, before we act and cause a bigger problem,” JT stated as Joey looked at him strangely.

“We would be saving the planet J,” Michura stated, looking over at JT strangely.  “Fuck what those crazy humans think!”

“That’s what we’re trying to avoid,” JT stated, pressing a button on the console as a news station channel appeared on the view screen.

“Come on man, why you have to go and turn on the news?”  Telly asked as JT looked at him strangely.

“I would like to know what the government is planning to do about the situation, before we go blazing out, trying to stop whatever the hell that is and scared the hell out of people,” JT stated as he tapped a button on the console as the volume in the room rose as they all heard the news report.

= Professors and Scientists at the University of North Florida have yet to identify the object that seems to be heading towards Earth.  Professor Graham Marshall says the object seems like a comet, but has a different energy pattern, unlike any other natural phenomenon that has been observed before.  Technicians at the International Space Exploration Agency has yet to release any information regarding this phenomenon while others speculate what can be done to stop its decent to Earth. =

“What does all that mean JT?”  Telly asked as JT pressed a button to mute the volume of the view screen.

“It means that no one knows what to do about the so-called comet that seems to be heading this way,” JT stated, shaking his head.  “That thing isn’t natural and…”

“If it’s not a comet, what the hell is it?”  Joey asked, walking over to JT and then leaning in, kissing his cheek as Telly gasped.

“What the hell is…” Telly said as Michura and Barbara both shook their heads, getting him to stop.

“Not now Telly,” Michura said as Telly looked at her strangely.

“Then when?”  Telly asked, looking at JT and Joey as if they were crazy.  “What in the hell is going on?  Where’s Drew?  What about Kevin?”

“Not now Telly!”  JT snapped as Telly threw his hands up and then walked out of the room.

“What was that all about?”  Joey asked as the doors to the room opened again as Hank walked in.

“What’s going on guys?  What has Helix so upset?”  Hank asked as JT shook his head and then sighed.

“He’s probably wondering why Joey just kissed my cheek,” JT stated as Hank shrugged his shoulders and then sat down at the table.

“So, what’s going on?  What’s with the red alert?”  Hank asked, looking around the room at everyone.

“You just now decided to come ask that question?”  Joey asked, looking at Hank strangely.  “We’ve been in here for half an hour and where did you go off to?”

“I went to go talk with Lance,” Hank stated with a smile as he placed his hands on the table.

“How sweet,” JT replied, walking over to the table and then taking a seat as he pressed a button on the table as a view screen above the table came on.  “Here’s the problem at hand.”

“Oh no,” Hank whispered as he watched the view screen.  “Starcade.”

“Something you have to contribute Hank?”  JT spoke, looking across at Hank.

“That’s not the question at hand JT,” Michura stated as her hair swished around on her head.  “Are we going to do something about this problem or what?”

“Since the government hasn’t done anything, I guess we need to try something,” JT stated, pressing a button on the table as the red alert siren stopped, but the lights continued flashing.  “I’ve sent out an alert for the others to respond.”

“I don’t think Donna is going to show, she’s having trouble with her family,” Barbara stated as JT got up and then walked around the table.

“So, is this all we got?”  JT asked, looking around the room.  “Computer, show active communication devices.”

= Processing information.  Psychic Warrior, Helix, Golem, Onyx, Psy Lad, Tele Girl, Frosta, Atlantis, Speedster, Illusioness, Stryker, Murderess, Midknight, Lightspeed, Amaryllis have active communication devices. =

“Computer, are you able to coordinate a way for the team to stop that phenomenon?”  JT asked.  “Computer, would we need to call in extra help with this situation?”

“We don’t have time for this man.  We have a good enough group right here.  Let’s go do this,” Barbara stated as the pupils of her eyes turned white as her whole body changed to ice.  “I’m ready for action right now.”

“What happens if we’re not enough to stop that thing?”  JT asked, looking over at Barbara.  “That thing will crash down somewhere on this planet and destroy all life around it!”

“We can be stopping that thing right now!”  Michura screamed, shaking her head.  “We’re sitting here, wasting valuable time arguing.  Let’s go do this!”

“Fine,” JT said, snapping his fingers as his eyes crackled with power as everyone in the room disappeared.

Hundreds of Miles Above X-Ternals’ Compound

“Ahhhh!”  JT screamed as he and his passengers appeared, floating in air.

“JT?  JT, are you okay?”  Joey asked, floating near JT.  “Baby… Baby, are you okay?”

“I think he’s out cold,” Hank stated, floating next to JT and Joey.

“I would like to know what that thing was we just saw… How—how did that—what was that fucking thing?”  Joey asked, looking around at the others as he moved away from JT as he grabbed A’Mora’s hand as she looked at him strangely.

“JT?  JT, are you with us?”  Michura asked, looking around.

“As I said, it looks like he’s out cold,” Hank stated, looking over at Michura.  “Michura, are you okay?”

“Don’t worry about me, we need to be worrying about that thing that’s headed towards the planet, wherever the hell it is,” Michura stated with a frown on her face, her body looking to be dissipating a bit.

“If he’ out cold, how are we up here, floating like this?”  Joey asked, looking around at the others.

“Duh, we’re on the edge of the atmosphere right now,” Hank stated, looking over at Joey as he shook his head.  “No gravity to hold us down, the reason we’re floating right now.”

“Okay,” Joey replied, shaking his head as there was a flash of light as Telly appeared next to Barbara.  “Whoa, what the hell?”

“Well it’s about damn time that I found you guys.  It took me a few jumps to get up here,” Telly stated, looking over at Joey and then frowning.  “What’s he doing here?  Is he part of the team now or something?”

“Another matter for later Telly,” Michura stated as she touched JT’s face as his body started to glow.  “JT?  JT, are you with us buddy?”

“Stop!”  JT screamed, his eyes shooting open as his body moved into an upright position as Michura floated backwards.  “Oh God, that must’ve been a dream, I thought…”

“What must’ve been a dream?”  Michura asked, looking at JT strangely.

“Where are we?”  JT asked, looking around and then looking down.  “Why are we in space?”

“Are you okay JT?”  Barbara asked, looking at JT strangely.

“I’m okay, but why are we in space?”  JT asked again as a few of his comrades looked at him strangely.

“We’re up here, looking for a rogue comet,” Michura replied as JT’s eyes glowed as he turned around quickly.

“No we’re not,” JT stated, his eyes no longer glowing as he raised his hands and then disappeared.

“What the hell is he going on about?”  Michura asked, screaming out as different parts of her body started dissipating.

“Michura, I think we need to get you back down on the planet,” Telly stated, grabbing Michura’s hand as he, along with her and Barbara disappeared as A’Mora shook her head, snapped her fingers and then disappeared as Hank just floated there with Joey.

“I guess you’re my responsibility now,” Hank stated as he grabbed Joey’s hand as the two of them started to descend towards the planet.

“What’s going on Hank?”  Joey asked as he and Hank floated downward.

“I don’t know, but the only way we’re going to find out is at HQ,” Hank replied as he shook his head.

Jacksonville, FL – X-Ternals’ Compound – The Command Room

“What in the hell is going on around here JT?”  Telly asked, walking into the room as he grabbed JT by his arm, snatching him around.

“Are you out of your mind Telly?”  JT asked, moving backwards away from Telly as Michura and Barbara walked into the room.

“I’m not the one that’s out of his fucking mind!  What in the hell are you doing with another guy?”  Telly asked, looking at JT like he was crazy.  “What’s with the new guy?”

“First of all, that’s none of your business” JT stated as Telly shook his head.  “Second…”

“No, it’s our business when it comes to the stability of this team,” Telly stated as he pointed his finger in JT’s face.  “You hugging up with another guy can cause problems for the rest of us!”

“How so Telly,” JT stated as Telly threw his hands up and then turned around.  “Did you two know about this new guy?”

“Yeah,” Michura replied as Telly shook his head and then turned back around.

“What about Drew?  What about Kevin?”  Telly asked, walking around to where JT was.  “I know it’s been awhile since you two have been together, but the boy got some hope in his heart that you two would get back together.”

“This team has nothing to do with my personal life Telly,” JT stated as Michura sighed.

“He has a point Telly,” Barbara stated.

“Are you kidding me here Barbara?  You know the first thing that’s going to happen is that there will be fighting among us and it’ll be because he’s acting like a homo gigolo,” Telly stated as JT’s eyes crackled with energy.

“What!”  JT snapped as Michura moved around in front of him.

“Please JT, he doesn’t mean it,” Barbara stated as she moved around Telly, getting in front of JT quickly.

“That’s it, he’s lost his mind!”  JT screamed as the whole building shook.

“JT please,” Barbara stated as she turned away from him and then rolled her eyes.  “We don’t have time for this petty arguing… We need to know what’s going on with the comet.”

“There wasn’t a comet,” JT stated as Michura and Barbara looked at him strangely.

“If it wasn’t a comet, then what in the hell was it Mr. Know It Fucking All?”  Telly asked, pointing his finger in JT’s face.  “Did you have something to do with that thing, whatever the hell it was?”

“Mr. Scott, you might want to learn to control what you’re doing, before someone actually does some changing for you,” JT stated as Telly smirked.

“Bring it on mental boy,” Telly said, balling his hands into fists as he stepped closer to JT.  “Unlike the others, I’m not afraid of you.  You fuck with me and I’ll teleport you ass into the damn sun.”

“You’re not scaring me any,” JT stated as his eyes crackled with energy, flaring brightly.  “That doorway to the sun can go both ways.  You ready to travel?”

“Guys please,” Barbara stated as JT shook his head.

“There’s nothing pleasing about this,” Telly stated as he shook his head and then turned around.  “One of these days, I’ll make you eat those words.”

“Nothing but air and opportunity Telly, take the chance,” JT stated as he shook his head.  “I’ve had enough of this so-called attitude from you.”

“What are you going to do about it?”  Telly asked, turning back around to face JT.

“Guys, please stop this,” Barbara pleaded as Michura just watched.

“You know what, I think I’ll take my leave on that note,” JT stated as Michura grabbed his hand, stopping him from leaving.

“No JT, you can’t leave, not until we find out what’s going on with that comet,” Michura stated as JT waved his hand at the console as a view screen came on.

“There was no comet,” JT stated, looking around at the view scree.  “It seems someone was trying to pull a hoax on all of us.  Someone tied a video feed into a satellite and tricked the world into believing that a comet was going to land some place and cause devastation and destruction.”

“Wait a minute,” Barbara stated, stepping in front of JT.  “But you and A’Mora sensed that thing before the others knew about it.”

“No, I felt that it wasn’t a natural occurrence and as things are, it wasn’t.  As for A’Mora, I don’t know what she sensed or felt,” JT stated as he turned around and then waved.  “Goodbye all.”

“JT!”  Michura screamed as JT faded away from the room.

“Are you out of your fucking mind Telly?  He could’ve beat your ass and then what?”  Barbara asked, looking at Telly like he was crazy.  “What’s gotten into you?”

“As you saw, he decided to leave instead,” Telly stated, shaking his head.  “It’s not what’s gotten into me, it’s what’s gotten into him.  What in the hell is going on with him, Drew, Kevin and this new guy?  Does the new guy know about Drew and Kevin?”

“Don’t know,” Barbara stated as she looked down.

“Then why in the hell is he dating someone else before ending things with the one he’s with?”  Telly asked as he sat down at the conference table.

“I can’t tell you that, I don’t have an answer to that one,” Barbara stated with a frown.

“I don’t either, but haven’t you guys noticed that things between him and Drew have been shaky as of late?”  Michura asked, looking over at Barbara and then at Telly.

“If things are shaky, it’s because JT doesn’t know how to keep his dick in his pants or whatever,” Telly stated as Michura sighed.

“Why are you acting like this Telly?”  Barbara asked.

“Because I’m tired of our so-called leader acting like a dumb ass bimbo,” Telly replied, looking at Barbara.  “Don’t you think things would go smoother around here if he didn’t act like he was a cheap whore?  Come on, one week he’s with Drew and the next he’s with Kevin and now he’s here with someone new.”

“First, we don’t know what’s going on between him or any of them.  It’s not our business.  Second, you need to cut this out, it’s not funny and if he found out what you just said, there will be trouble and we don’t need that mess around here,” Barbara stated.

“I don’t care if he found out,” Telly said, shaking his head.  “Maybe he needs to find out so he’ll stop acting that way.  He needs to act like somebody with some sense and stop leading people on.”

“Why do I get the feeling that there’s a personal message in there somewhere,” Michura stated as Barbara looked over at her.

“I’m not gay!”  Telly snapped as Michura shook her head.

“On that note, I’m going to go get some rest,” Michura stated, walking towards the door.  “It seems our little jaunt into space took a lot of my energy.”

“I’ll see you here, later on girl.  I think I’ll do monitor duty until someone else comes in to take my place,” Barbara stated with a frown as she glared at Telly.  “I wouldn’t be doing this, if someone hadn’t ran the person that was doing monitor duty off.”

“It wasn’t my fault,” Telly said as his eyes flared with a sparkle of energy as he disappeared from the room.
