Chapter 2 — Definition of Royalty
Between Here and There – The Limbo Dimension – Castle Limbo
“Who in the hell do you think you are?” Tara asked, taking on a fighting stance, pushing Necroloque behind her. “I don’t know who you think you are, but I’m not letting you get close to the king.”
“As I said, he’s not the king of this place anymore,” Tara and Necroloque heard as the light took on the form of a person. “Welcome to my domain, this is Limbo no more!”
“Not so fast there,” JT spoke, appearing behind the person, grabbing them quickly as his eyes glowed brightly as he and the person vanished and then reappeared again. “What the hell happened? We were supposed to had appeared outside!”
“No my boy, there’s something amiss here,” Necroloque stated as he waved his hand and nothing happened.
“Uncle, are you okay?” JT asked, looking back at Necroloque as the person threw him to the ground. “Owww! Something’s wrong with my psychic armor, I actually felt that.”
“You’ll feel more than that!” The person screamed, waving its hand as magical chains sprang up from the floor, wrapping around JT and Necroloque.
“No!” JT screamed, his eyes dimming as his hands sparkled with energy. “Amazon, get down!”
“Gotcha!” Tara screamed, falling to the floor as JT’s eyes crackled with energy.
“Gravata Sinova Clatorim!” JT screamed as demonic fire shot from his eyes and mouth, enveloping the person that stood before him and Necroloque.
“Did you really think that was going to do anything to me?” The person asked as JT’s eyes widened. “That was nothing but an amateur parlor trick. You might want to upgrade to something else.”
“Speaking of an upgrade, let’s do it!” JT screamed as his eyes sparkled with energy as the chains that were wrapped around his body disappeared as a strange looking crystal appeared in his hand. “Soul Eternal, Change-up!”
With JT’s words, a bright light filled the area as a ribbon-like energy surrounded his body, changing his clothing. When the light faded, JT stood there naked as the day he was born. The person laughing and pointing, JT looked down, noticing that he was naked as he looked at Necroloque and then looked back at the person.
“Why—why didn’t I transform?” JT asked.
“I don’t know my boy, I believe something is blocking our powers,” Necroloque responded as JT shook his head, accepting the cloak from him, covering his naked body.
“Can’t be, my powers are working just fine,” JT stated as Necroloque shook his head.
“You seem to be relying on your innate powers, not the powers you possess due to Limbo,” Necroloque spoke as he gestured with his hand and nothing happened.
“Awww, is the wimpy king and prince, wondering what is happening with their powers?” The person asked with a smile on their face.
“JT, who is this person? How did they get here?” Tara asked, moving along the wall, trying to get closer to JT and Necroloque.
“I can’t mind-tap them to find out,” JT replied with a frown. “Why do I get the feeling that something else is going on here, that I don’t know about. Uncle, is there something you’re not telling me?”
“Divine could be behind this,” Necroloque stated as JT’s eyes flared with energy as Tara sighed and then shook her head.
“Oh, here we go,” Tara stated as JT looked back at Necroloque and then back at the person.
“Who are you?” JT asked, looking the person straight on. “Why are you here? How did you get here?”
“To simply answer your question,” the person spoke, waving its hand in mid-air. “I was here, way long before your pathetic grandmother and kingy here took over the place.”
“You’re an elder?” JT sarcastically asked, looking at the person and then back to Necroloque. “Is that right Uncle, is this person one of the Elders?”
“Not any elder that I know of,” Necroloque replied as the person shook their head and then gestured with their hand in his direction as he’s knocked against the wall and held in place. “This place isn’t going to hurt us, it belongs to us.”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” the person stated with a smile. “Castle Limbo is no more under the control of Clan Chosen.”
“Who is it under control of?” JT asked as his hand sparkled with energy. “Last time I checked, this was my castle, my domain!”
“Oh, you silly boy, you don’t know what you speak of,” the person spoke, shaking their head. “Apparently they didn’t tell you the rules of magic and how magic completely works.”
“What are these so-called rules that they didn’t tell me about?” JT asked, tapping his foot on the floor. “What is it that I don’t know?”
“Apparently, there’s a whole lot you don’t know about,” the person stated, walking past JT and over to the mirror that stood in the room. “Mirror, what are you?”
“It’s a damn mirror, what kind of question is that?” Tara asked, looking at the person strangely. “You can’t just ask the mirror something like that.”
“The mirror can answer any question posed to it,” the person responded as JT shook his head.
“She has a point, why are you asking the mirror what it is?” JT asked, looking at the person strangely.
“To prove a point,” the person answered with a sly smile on their face. “Mirror, what are you?”
“Should I answer the question my liege?” The voice of the mirror asked as JT shook his head.
“Knock yourself out,” JT replied as the mirror’s reflection cracked. “What in the hell just happened?”
“My boy, get away from there, get away from the mirror,” Necroloque spoke as JT looked over at him and then moved quickly to get away from the mirror and the person.
“What’s going on Uncle?” JT asked.
“I don’t know, but something’s not right,” Necroloque replied as the mirror started to glow and then the mirror’s shards exploded inward, creating a portal-like phenomenon as it grew in size as a creature stepped out of it.
“No, Celestus,” Necroloque whispered as Tara turned and looked at him.
“Did you say something sir?” Tara asked as things shook up around them.
“Why do I get the feeling that I’ve met these creature before,” JT said as Necroloque shook his head.
“I’m sure you have Prince,” the person stated as the portal closed and the creature was fully in the room. “Welcome King Celestus.”
“King Celestus,” Tara and JT spoke in unison.
“What in the hell are you the king of?” JT asked, stepping back as he reached behind his back, but nothing appeared in his hand.
“I am the king of this domain,” the creature spoke, it’s feet stepping on the ground as things in the area started to change around all of them. “Your kind took this place from me centuries ago and now it’s time for me to reclaim what’s rightfully mine.”
“Nothing was taken from you centuries ago Celestus! You misused and squandered the power the elders entrusted you with!” Necroloque snapped, moving in front of JT and Tara. “You used this place as a dumping ground for your wrongdoing and they took this place from you and passed it to someone that would not misuse it.”
“And you think Princey here is using it the right way?” The person asked, looking at Necroloque. “Both of you have used this place for years as a means of…”
“A means of what… A means to get away from others,” JT spoke as he stepped in front of Celestus. “I’ll admit it, I’ve done that tons of times. When I want to escape what’s going on in my life, I come here, so I can avoid others.”
“Limbo wasn’t designed for that,” the person stated as JT shook his head.
“If memory serves correctly, this place was designed as the stopping point for souls to go to their final resting place,” JT stated as he shook his head and then folded his arms across his chest. “This place is the nexus between heaven and hell!”
“You’re almost right,” the person stated as Necroloque sighed and then shook his head.
“What do you mean I’m almost right, I am right,” JT stated as the person shook their head and then laughed.
“Kingy here hasn’t told you the true meaning of this place it seems,” the person stated as he walked over to Celestus and bowed his head. “May I King?”
“Yes you may,” Celestus replied as the person tapped it’s foot on the floor and then stepped backwards as a portal-like phenomenon opened under all of them.
“No!” Tara screamed, grabbing Necroloque as she floated off the floor with him, holding him by the collar of his top as she took off her lasso and used it to rope a column, using the lasso to hold her and Necroloque from being pulled into the phenomenon.
“What in the hell are you doing?” JT asked as he held onto a column in the area as the phenomenon started to pull things around them into it. “It’s sucking everything into it! Make it stop!”
“Why should I make it stop, I’m enjoying this way too much,” the person stated as JT eyes started to glow an eerie purple color.
“You will stop it right now,” JT spoke as his hands sparkled with energy. “Saturn! Anima aeterna, Change Sursum!”
With JT’s words, his eyes crackled with energy as his body is enveloped by the ribbon-like energy and his costume appeared. Still holding onto the column, JT reached behind his back with one of his hands, reaching for air as his scepter appeared.
“Stop my boy, don’t do that! No isn’t the time!” Necroloque screamed as JT waved the scepter through the air as he floated away from the column, spinning around in a circle. “My boy, you can’t do that here, not now!”
“I must do something to stop these fools!” JT screamed, holding the scepter high above his head. “Saturn!”
“No JT, I think you need to listen to him!” Tara screamed, still holding Necroloque by the collar of his shirt as JT spun around in a circle, waving the scepter in a strange formation.
“No, don’t listen to them, do your worst Princey,” the person stated as he moved to stand in front of Celestus. “Go ahead Princey, do what you want.”
“Saturn! Soul Eternal Kiss!” JT screamed as he aimed the scepter at the person and Celestus as a manifestation of energy, shaped like lips, struck the person, knocking him down to the ground as Celestus smiled and then laughed out. “You think that was funny monster?”
“I wish these parlor tricks would come to an end,” Celestus spoke, moving towards the phenomenon, entering it, disappearing from view.
“Where did that monster go?” JT asked as the phenomenon started to close.
“I have a strange feeling that he’s headed to Earth,” Necroloque stated as he and Tara landed on the floor as the person got up off the floor and then looked around.
“No! He left here without me? Where did the master go?” The person asked, his expression changing to a frantic one.
“Apparently, you’ve been left behind, whoever you are,” JT spoke, landing in front of the person. “So, who are you?”
“I’m not going to tell you,” the person stated as JT shook his head.
“Either you tell me or I’ll find out for myself, the hard way,” JT stated as Tara shook her head.
“I doubt you would want to do that Princey,” the person stated as JT’s eyes flared with psychic energy as the person’s eye color changed to match the energy of his eyes. “What are you doing?”
“I’m discovering who you are,” JT stated as dropped to his knees and screamed out. “No! This—this can’t be!”
“What’s going on JT?” Tara asked, rushing over to JT as she tried to touch him, but an invisible force knocked her backwards. “JT!”
“He… This… Oh God, what in the hell is going on?” JT asked, shaking his head as he looked over at Necroloque. “This fool is supposed to be dead!”
“Who’s supposed to be dead?” Tara asked, getting up off the ground and walking over to where JT was, doing her best, avoiding touching him again.
“Uncle, this fool isn’t supposed to exist right now,” JT stated as he got up off the floor, holding his side. “Remember Uncle, remember the day of my birth, the day you pulled me from the future, to help you stop an attempt on my life.”
“What are you talking about?” Necroloque asked, looking at JT strangely.
“On the day of my birth, you pulled me from the future to help you stop a crazy family from killing me, to take my powers, so they could get ahead of us on the Winding Way. This is one of the fools!” JT snapped, his body emanating psychic energy brightly, the manifestation taking on the form of a firebird. “Remember Uncle, this fool is the one that was acting as if he were Legacy Osiris! This is Ryan Hall, he’s supposed to not exist!”
“I have no idea of what you speak of,” Necroloque stated as JT shook his head. “How do you know this person? When did his family attempt to kill you?”
“This is getting us nowhere,” JT stated as he moved over to Necroloque, grabbed his hand quickly as his eyes glowed an eerie purple color, a sign that he was using his psychic powers to share information mentally. “Do you remember things now?”
“My boy, I—I have no recollection of this ever happening,” Necroloque responded as his eyes stopped glowing.
“You may not, but I do,” JT replied as he moved away from Necroloque, turning his attention back to the person standing near them. “That fool is Ryan Hall and he’s not supposed to exist right now. He needs to be stopped.”
“If he’s not supposed to exist right now, why is he here now, in Limbo of all places?” Tara asked, looking at JT strangely. “He’s standing right there. Unless this is another trick of the mirror, then something is drastically wrong.”
“Yeah, something is drastically wrong here,” JT stated as he looked back at Necroloque. “They brought the mirror. What’s going to happen because of that?”
“I don’t know, but it can’t be good,” Necroloque stated as he moved over to the person identified as Ryan Hall and waved a hand in front of his face. “How did you get here to Limbo?”
“Limbo doesn’t belong to you,” Ryan stated as JT shook his head.
“You keep saying that, but all of us here know that not t be the truth,” JT stated as he waved his hand as a Japanese katana blade forged of psychic energy appeared in his hand. “Come on now, don’t make me use this on you again.”
“No my boy, we don’t need to go that route again. I saw from your mind, what happened the last time you did that,” Necroloque stated as he shook his head. “Put that away and let’s look at things logically here.”
“Logically, he broke my scrying glass and released Celestus into only God knows where,” JT stated as he shook his head. “Where did Celestus go?”
“I’m not telling,” Ryan stated with a smile as he folded his arms across his chest. “You could’ve handled things totally different, but you wanted to be the powerhouse that you are.”
“What are you spouting on about now?” JT asked as he stepped in front of Ryan.
“Like your friend Hank said, you can’t change everything in the world,” Ryan stated as JT looked at him with wide eyes.
“How—how did you know what Hank said? Have… You’ve been watching me!” JT snapped as he grabbed Ryan by the collar of his shirt, jacking him up off of his feet and then tossing him through the air. “How long have you been spying on me?”
“You act like you’re so damn important,” Ryan stated as he got up off the floor and then rubbed at his head. “Who says I was spying on you?”
“Well who in the hell else were you spying on, if you weren’t spying on me? Who else do you know, that I know?” JT asked, looking at Ryan strangely.
“You’d be very surprised by that,” Ryan replied with a sly smile on his face.
“I don’t have time for the game you’re trying to play here,” JT stated as he reached behind his back again, grabbing for air as his scepter appeared. “I’m going to put an end to you and make sure that you don’t plague me ever again.”
“Didn’t you do that already,” Ryan stated as he looked at JT. “You did that already and yet, here I am, plaguing you again. Haven’t you figured it out already, you can’t get rid of me.”
“I can’t get rid of you,” JT said as he shook his head.
“Remember what happened the last time you tried to get rid of me,” Ryan stated as he smiled. “You stabbed me in the forehead with your sword!”
“Yeah, I did and your point,” JT stated as his eyes crackled with energy.
“And what happened to you in the process of doing that?” Ryan asked, smirking at JT.
“My transformation melted away and I almost died, mainly because someone in your family, cast a spell on me, to tie your soul to mine, so whatever I did to you, I would do to myself,” JT explained as Tara’s eyes widened.
“This is getting drawn too far out,” Tara stated as she looked over at JT. “Where did that monster go?”
“That’s something I can’t say,” JT stated as he shook his head. “I don’t even think he knows, since I wasn’t able to see it in his head.”
“Time’s a wasting here,” Tara stated as she shook her head. “We need to stop that thing, before it hurts somebody. We can deal with this child later on.”
“True, we do need to stop Celestus, but that’s something we can’t do, if we don’t know where he could possibly be,” JT stated as Ryan laughed and then tapped his foot on the ground as another strange phenomenon appeared as he jumped through it quickly, disappearing from the area. “What the hell!”
“Now he’s gone,” Tara stated as she shook her head. “Do you happen to know where he’s going?”
“I am not able to see anything outside of Limbo, now that my mirror has been broken,” JT stated as he sighed. “The only way I’m going to see anything out of here, is for me to leave here.”
“Then what are you waiting for, let’s go,” Tara stated as she looked at JT strangely as Necroloque stepped over to JT.
“She has a point my boy. You need to go find Celestus and that child and put a stop to whatever they are trying to do. While you do that, I’ll see how Divine ties into things and I’ll join you two later on.”
“Fine,” JT stated as he looked at Tara, took her hand and then snapped his fingers as the two of them disappeared.
